Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: Earn $45-$50 Per hour.
  • On-Call Pay: $150 per scheduled on-call shift
  • Paid Time Off: Start with 48 hours, increasing to 168 hours with tenure
  • Paid Holidays: 7 annually (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas)

Your Role

As a Commercial HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.

Primary Systems Serviced

Candidates should have experience servicing and troubleshooting several of the following systems:

Commercial Chillers (Required)

  • Cooling Towers
  • Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS)
  • Rooftop Units (RTUs)
  • Split Systems
  • Package Units
  • Heat Pumps

Commercial Refrigeration Equipment

  • Reach-In Coolers
  • Walk-In Coolers
  • Walk-In Freezers
  • Commercial Ice Machines

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control-system issues to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Service and repair chillers, cooling towers, RTUs, refrigeration systems, and associated controls.
  • Utilize Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS) for monitoring, diagnostics, and system optimization.
  • Provide professional customer service and communicate repair recommendations clearly to clients.
  • Complete electronic work orders, service reports, and documentation using a company-issued tablet and mobile device.

Follow all BGIS and customer safety procedures and standards.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2-5+ years of commercial HVAC/R service experience.
  • Strong experience with commercial chillers required.
  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening.

Preferred

  • Experience with Cooling Towers and BMS/BAS Controls
  • Experience servicing commercial refrigeration equipment and ice machines.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and work order management software
  • Technical certifications and manufacturer training

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work on rooftops, ladders, and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE and work in varying weather conditions.

Travel

  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation.
  • Flexibility for overtime and regional travel as needed.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with commercial chillers, cooling towers, BMS/BAS controls, RTUs, package units, split systems, heat pumps, and commercial refrigeration equipment, with the ability to independently diagnose and repair complex HVAC/R systems.
