Medical Office Representative - Admitting at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA. This position is Full Time and will work <80>-hour, Day shifts.

Reporting to the Access Scheduling Supervisor, the Patient Visit Representative is responsible for the coordination of patient visit. Responsible for scheduling outpatient procedures, providing liaison functions between doctor's offices and hospital and coordinating procedures between departments. Registers patients in a pleasant, professional, and timely manner, demonstrating excellence in guest services. Conducts patient/guarantor interviews, explains hospital policies, financial responsibilities, and patient bill of rights. Handles all routine patient inquiries related to the registration process. Ensures all necessary demographic and financial data is obtained and accurately documented into the HIS system. Identifies appropriate payor source for routing of revenue generated during the patient stay. Ensures that any pre-certification and/or authorization are obtained to meet individual payor payment authorization protocols. Responsible for order entry on patient tracking and hospital information systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • California Fire and Life Safety Card - National Organization within 30 days of hire.
  • 2 years of experience in a hospital, similar medical setting, or physician's office.
  • 2 years of Registration experience, Insurance Verification experience, and/or Radiology Scheduling experience in a hospital setting.
