About The Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Network Operations Center (NOC) Specialist to join our team on-site at our data center in Glomfjord. Taking advantage of the region’s green energy resources, our facility relies on stable, round-the-clock monitoring to maintain maximum up time for our clients.

As a NOC Specialist, you are the first line of defense. You will be responsible for monitoring our network infrastructure, servers, and environmental systems in real-time. This is a technical, hands-on role where you will identify anomalies, troubleshoot initial issues, and escalate complex problems to senior engineers. If you love solving technical puzzles and want to be at the heart of data center operations, this role is for you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Monitor the health and performance of network infrastructure, servers, and critical data centre systems 24/7/365.
  • Respond to alerts, investigate faults, and perform first-line troubleshooting to restore services quickly.
  • Escalate complex network, infrastructure, and facility issues to senior engineers while providing accurate diagnostics and updates.
  • Monitor environmental systems, including power, cooling, and Building Management System (BMS) alarms, to help maintain data centre resilience.
  • Log, prioritise, and manage incidents through the ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and clear documentation.
  • Perform routine operational checks and follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and escalation processes.
  • Support shift handovers by documenting active incidents, maintenance activities, operational risks, and outstanding actions.
  • Work closely with Network Engineering, Data Centre Operations, Facilities, and Security teams to support planned maintenance and operational activities.
  • Contribute to root cause investigations by collecting evidence and documenting incident timelines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve monitoring, reduce recurring issues, and enhance operational efficiency through process improvements and automation.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and system documentation to support compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver excellent operational support while helping ensure high availability and uptime for customer environments.

About You

Experience & Education

  • Practical Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a NOC, IT helpdesk, technical support, or data center environment.
  • Education: Degree or vocational certificate in Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (relevant hands-on experience or certifications will also be highly considered).

Technical Skills

  • Networking Fundamentals: Solid understanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switches, routers, and firewalls).
  • Monitoring & Systems: Familiarity with monitoring tools (such as Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, or SolarWinds) and ticketing systems (like Jira Service Management or ServiceNow).
  • OS Knowledge: Basic comfort level working with Linux/Unix command lines and Windows Server environments.
  • Certifications (A Plus): CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or ITIL Foundation certifications are highly advantageous.

Soft Skills & Core Traits

  • Situational Awareness: A high level of alertness and attention to detail—you notice when a metric looks slightly off.
  • Calm Under Pressure: Ability to remain methodical and focused when multiple alerts go off simultaneously.
  • Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills in English for clear documentation and team coordination (Norwegian language skills are an asset for local site communication).
  • Shift Flexibility: Comfortable working a flexible shift schedule (including nights, weekends, and holidays) to support our 24/7/365 operations.

What We Can Offer You

You’ll have the opportunity to help shape the operating standards behind a next-generation AI cloud platform, working on complex infrastructure challenges with real ownership and impact. This is a chance to play a meaningful role in scaling high-performance, sustainable data centre operations in a fast-moving environment.
