Document Controller BIM Program
The Document Controller BIM Controller is an operational role responsible for executing and supporting day-to-day document control activities across engineering project delivery operations. This Document Controller BIM Program focuses on operational documentation management, ensuring engineering documentation is accurate, complete, properly distributed, and consistently maintained throughout all project phases. The Document Controller BIM Program is part of Vertiv's BIM Program Department, supporting document control activities for Product Engineering project delivery. The Document Controller BIM Program also contributes to the department's standardization initiatives, helping maintain consistent document control practices, templates, and procedures across projects. The role collaborates with engineering, project management, and external stakeholders to support effective document lifecycle management in accordance with company procedures and applicable standards, including ISO 19650.
Resonsibilities
- Manage and maintain project documentation and the Document List throughout all project phases, monitor document production, submission, review, and approval status across projects, and escalate documentation risks, delays, or non-compliances to project management
- Support product engineering teams during project activities, conclave and sprint activities
- Perform document quality, consistency, metadata, and submission checks in line with company procedures and ISO 19650 principles, ensuring documentation complies with company and project standards
- Ensure consistent application of document numbering, naming, and revision control standards and approved document templates, and support project setup needs regarding document management
- Prepare, distribute, and archive documentation and transmittals using approved document management platforms, and maintain project folder structures and file organization within those platforms
- Coordinate with engineers, clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders regarding documentation delivery and status, and support project teams in complying with document management procedures and submission requirements
- Support implementation and maintenance of document control procedures, workflows, and templates, apply BIM Protocol requirements, contribute to the BIM Program Department's standardization initiatives, including maintenance of document control templates and procedures used across projects, and support continuous improvement of documentation workflows and efficiency
- Support the administration and day-to-day operation of document management platforms and tools
- Solid understanding of how the role contributes to team and project objectives
- Impact extends beyond own tasks to the accuracy and reliability of team-level documentation output
- No supervisory responsibility; developing capability to support broader process improvement
Requirements
- Active user of: Autodesk Forma/ACC (A), Procore (B), SharePoint (IN), AutoCAD (B), MS Office incl. Excel (A), Word (A), PowerPoint (A), Windows
- Basic understanding of ISO 19650 standards
- Intermediate understanding of engineering documentation types and their purpose (drawings, specifications, calculations, submittals, transmittals)
- Understanding of project setup requirements regarding document management
- Technical/practical skills: analytical, assessment, organizational
- Able to establish effective teamwork

Education and Qualifications
- BS in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, structural or architecture)
- English language, Pre-advanced level (CEF level C1)
