Revenue Manager
About Allocate
Allocate is building the operating system for private markets. Our platform gives wealth advisors, family offices, and qualified individuals streamlined access to institutional-quality venture capital, private equity, and private credit funds — automating fund discovery, subscription, and portfolio management. Since launch, Allocate has scaled to over $5 billion on the platform, serving more than 550 wealth advisory firms and institutional family offices.
The Role
Allocate is looking for a Revenue Manager to own revenue recognition and billing operations for a fast-scaling fintech platform. This role owns the revenue close process end to end, ensures billing data integrity across Salesforce and downstream systems, and builds the scalable processes, controls, and team Allocate needs as transaction volume and product complexity grow. This is a hands-on role with significant ownership and visibility into the finance function, reporting to the Controller.
What You’ll Do
Own the end-to-end revenue recognition process in accordance with ASC 606, including contract review, deferred revenue schedules, and revenue journal entries.
Manage the billing lifecycle from contract and order through invoicing, ensuring accuracy across Salesforce and downstream billing systems.
Partner with RevOps and Engineering to build, organize and maintain clean, well-structured revenue and billing data across databases and systems of record.
Design and implement scalable billing processes and controls to support Allocate’s growing transaction volume and evolving product structures.
Own revenue-related account reconciliations (deferred revenue, accounts receivable, unbilled revenue) and the monthly and quarterly close for revenue.
Partner with Sales, Legal, and Product to review new contract structures and ensure appropriate revenue treatment.
Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual revenue and billing work as volume scales.
Assist in preparation for the first external audit, including preparation of schedules and policy documentation.
Lead technical accounting research and memo preparation for new or complex revenue arrangements.
Partner closely with Controller on implementation of a new ERP for multiple entity structure.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred.
6+ years of progressive accounting experience with a focus on revenue recognition and billing, ideally in a SaaS or fintech environment.
Prior experience managing or mentoring staff, or readiness to take on people management as the team grows.
Solid working knowledge of ASC 606 and SaaS revenue recognition best practices.
Hands-on experience with Salesforce (or a similar CRM/CPQ) and its interplay with billing and revenue systems.
Experience in system implementations, SQL, databasis and revenue systems.
Comfort organizing and working across databases, with the ability to query, reconcile, and troubleshoot data across systems.
A track record of scaling billing processes and systems to support company growth.
Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, RevOps, Engineering, and external auditors.
Fund accounting experience is a plus.
Why Allocate
The opportunity to build and lead revenue and billing infrastructure at a high-growth fintech company reshaping private markets.
