The Boeing Defense, Space & Security organization is seeking an experienced Aircraft Stability & Control Engineer to join the Flight Systems Capability Aerodynamics Team with the opportunity to provide engineering and technical decisions for Boeing Military Aircraft (B-1B, B-2, B-52), Military Derivative Aircraft (E-7 AEW&C (737), E-3 AWACS (707, 767), ETS&S(C-32/C-40, E-4B, VC-25A, VC-25B), Tankers (KC-135, KC-767)) and other diverse aircraft and projects. 

The Aerodynamics team is looking for an individual with experience in aircraft stability & control analysis.  The position requires proficiency in the aerodynamics discipline and knowledge of aircraft stability & control principles. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plan & perform aircraft stability & control assessments, supporting airworthiness assessments

  • Support flight test planning for aircraft flying/handling quality evaluation.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 5+ years of experience in performing aircraft stability & control (S&C) assessments or evaluating aircraft flying/handling qualities

  • Experience in incorporating databases (aerodynamic, propulsion, mass properties, etc.) into S&C toolsets, enabling aircraft S&C evaluation

  • Background in aircraft flying/handling quality certification efforts.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering, with Aerodynamics or Aerospace emphasis

  • Background with aircraft S&C and certification for military aircraft, particularly MIL-HDBK-516C & MIL-STD-1797

  • Experience with aircraft control law evaluation

  • Experience with planning / conducting wind tunnel testing and with subsequent data reduction

  • Experience in aligning S&C analyses and associated flight testing

  • MATLAB & Simulink experience

  • Programming experience, particularly C++

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Summary pay range:

Experienced (Level 3): $104,550 - $141,450
