Controller (Financial Reporting, GAAP/IFRS & Accounting Operations)

About the Role
At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring a Controller to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, and financial oversight.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing month-end close, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, budgeting support, and accounting operations. If you have strong GAAP or IFRS expertise, leadership experience, and a passion for building scalable financial processes, this role is a great fit.
Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Financial Close
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, payroll, depreciation, and intercompany transactions.
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready financial records.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare GAAP or IFRS-compliant financial statements.
- Deliver P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports.
- Perform variance analysis and provide financial insights.
- Support executive, board, and investor reporting.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
- Coordinate external audits and prepare audit documentation.
- Support tax compliance and regulatory reporting.
- Monitor financial governance and risk.
Budgeting & Treasury
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
- Manage banking relationships and treasury activities.
- Assist with capital allocation and financial analysis.
Team Leadership & Process Improvement
- Lead and develop the accounting team.
- Improve accounting workflows and financial systems.
- Support ERP implementations and process automation.
- Develop scalable accounting procedures and controls.
Required Experience & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of accounting or finance experience.
- 2+ years of accounting leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks Enterprise.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Nice to Have
- CPA, ACCA, CMA, or MBA.
- Previous experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager, or Finance Manager.
- Experience with ERP implementations or financial system migrations.
- Background in SaaS, professional services, real estate, or technology.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
