Accountabilities
The job holder is responsible for delivering repair instructions that comply with certification and airworthiness requirements, adhering to Airbus processes and methods
The job holder is accountable for continuously developing technical expertise to qualify as a repair solution approver.
The job holder is responsible for ensuring all repair solutions meet established quality and delivery timelines.
Dimensions
Engagement with 3+ cross-functional European partner teams.
Management of 10+ critical structural components.
Handling of 500+ repair queries annually for AOG and Heavy Maintenance.
Main activities
Analyze in-service damage reports from customers (Airline/ Maintenance Repair Organization) to assess structural impact.
Develop compliant repair solutions, including static and fatigue strength analysis, while adhering to Airbus stress methods and certification standards.
Prepare and authorize all necessary technical documents, drawings, and memos.
Collaborate with the Design Office, Customer Service, Airtac, and other stakeholders (e.g., Materials & Processes, Aerodynamics) to ensure solutions are technically sound and customer-focused.
Lead or support digitalization and technical improvement initiatives; contribute to the global 24/7 "Follow-The-Sun" support strategy for AOG and Heavy Maintenance.
Manage internal data collection, prepare regular delivery reports, and document lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
Outputs
Delivered technical repair instructions and structural impact analyses.
Compliant structural repair justification reports and stress analysis dossiers.
Comprehensive technical documentation, including repair memos, engineering drawings, and approval records.
Standardized documentation of lessons learned to enhance repair authoring and approval processes.
Periodic performance reports detailing delivery status, quality metrics, and operational improvements.
Personal & interpersonal & Professional skills
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering (postgraduate qualification is an advantage).
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
Proven experience in aircraft structural design, stress analysis, and application of fatigue and damage tolerance principles.
Previous Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) experience is highly desirable.
Basic understanding of airworthiness regulations governing aircraft structures and repairs.
Solid knowledge of metallic and composite materials and their associated manufacturing processes in aerospace structures.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Proactive, collaborative, and results-oriented mindset.
