Global Sales & Services Operations (GSSO) is the team that helps shape Gartner's mission-critical sales and services priorities and works with sales and services leaders to drive tactical and analytical insights. As an associate on the GSSO team, you'll be at the forefront of the ongoing transformation of Gartner's sales and services teams, which are delivering approximately $4.9B in annual revenue and working to drive sustained double-digit growth. You will partner with business leaders across Gartner to support global sales and services teams comprised of nearly 9,000 associates who sell to and service every major function, industry and market sector around the world.
About this role:
This role is part of the GSSO’s Process and Program Analytics team. We innovate the way the Sales and Services teams help clients receive value and enable smarter decision making by functional leaders who are our clients. This role would entail supporting cross-functional efforts to proactively uncover new ideas, opportunities, and strategies on the way we function as a Global Sales and Services Operations organization to drive higher client retention. You will also have opportunities to work on several business initiatives and contribute to problem solving, leading to continuous improvement. You will work with senior stakeholders and provide analytical insights to solve business problems. We are looking for a Data Analytics Lead to help innovate and continuously improve Sales & Service productivity and effectiveness. This is a high visibility, high impact role, and a great platform to make a disproportionate impact on our clients’ and Gartner’s future success. The lead role will take responsibility to identify gaps, prioritize the key ones with leadership and design improvements (processes, tools, and/or metrics) that lead to improved client retention and increased efficiency & effectiveness within the Global Sales and Services teams.
What you’ll do:
Work with senior stakeholders to define problem statements, provide initial scope, and bring together cross-functional teams to help problem-solve and drive execution
Lead end to end cross-functional global projects that drive strategic priorities across Gartner. These could be in phases including
Initial data exploration, solution framing, and alignment with service leadership
Designing and executing pilots with smaller groups if and as needed
Gathering relevant inputs through interviews or focus group discussions
Synthesizing the learnings, designing the scale up solution and helping implement it
Support strategic decision making through a deep understanding of the business supported by descriptive analysis (quantitative and qualitative), proof-of-concept curation, and effective prioritization
Drive problem solving while ensuring the right stakeholders and teams are involved at the right stage
Identify key stakeholders for your initiatives and build TBVA with them so you can play a role shaping their team’s strategy and priorities
Drive transparency and clear communication across projects
Ensure successful roll-out of projects by working with cross-functional teams across L&D, Comms, Ops, etc.
Contribute to other GSSO priority initiatives depending on business need. Example responsibilities include:
Create, compile, and analyze ideas for service improvement. Analyze and evaluate based on customer, financial, Service associate, and competitive considerations – depending on the nature of the project.
Lead plans to roll out programs including partnering with communications and Learning & Development.
Effectively engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders in solving cross-functional problems and capitalizing on opportunities.
Collaborate across Strategy & Operations, Services & Delivery, Sales, Product, and Research & Advisory teams to bring these solutions to our service and delivery teams in a coordinated way
Enable decision making through relevant data analytics for the specific problem statement(s)
What you’ll need:
Bachelor’s Degree required, preference for graduation in Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics. Masters degree and / or MBA would be nice to have
5+ years of professional experience in related roles
Strong qualitative and quantitative problem-solving skills; excellent analytical skills; ability to analyze large datasets and translate raw information into actionable insights.
Strong experience with one or more of: SQL, PowerBI, and/or Python
Champion mindset – innovative by nature, optimistic, and driven to only accept the best for the business
Outstanding project management skills with an ability to run complex projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize workloads
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple work streams and large amounts of detail simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to create and deliver effective dashboards, decks, and updates for use by multiple levels of staff, up to and including the executive level
Strong influencing skills: ability to create alignment on objectives, vision, and plan in a fast-paced, heavily matrixed organization. Ability to manage stakeholders
Very strong Excel and PowerPoint skills with strong presentation skills both in service and executive leadership
Knowledge of the Gartner Sales and Service functions or experience in delivering directly to a client is a strong plus
Experience and flexibility of working in a global set-up is critical to have
