About this Role

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking a Site Scheduler to join our Project Controls team. The Site Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating detailed construction schedules for active EPC projects. Working closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Superintendents, Engineering, Procurement, and subcontractors, this role monitors project progress, identifies schedule risks, and provides proactive solutions to keep projects on track. 

The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment. This position serves as the scheduling expert at the project site, translating field progress into actionable schedule updates and providing leadership with accurate schedule forecasting and reporting. 

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup schedules for assigned projects.  
  • Update project schedules regularly using field progress, subcontractor updates, and project team input.  
  • Perform schedule analysis to identify critical path activities, float consumption, schedule variance, and potential delays.  
  • Work closely with Construction Managers and Superintendents to validate progress and forecast upcoming work.  
  • Coordinate schedule updates with Engineering, Procurement, Project Controls, and subcontractors.  
  • Facilitate weekly and monthly schedule review meetings with project stakeholders.  
  • Prepare look-ahead schedules (2-week, 3-week, or 6-week) to support field execution.  
  • Develop recovery schedules and mitigation plans when schedule impacts occur.  
  • Monitor productivity trends and identify opportunities to improve project performance.  
  • Assist with change management by evaluating schedule impacts associated with scope changes.  
  • Support claims avoidance by maintaining accurate schedule documentation and historical records.  
  • Generate schedule reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for project leadership.  
  • Ensure scheduling activities comply with company procedures and client requirements.  
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout project execution. 

What You'll Bring

Required 

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent construction scheduling experience may be considered.  
  • 3+ years of scheduling experience supporting industrial, power generation, heavy civil, manufacturing, or EPC construction projects.  
  • Experience developing and maintaining CPM schedules.  
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6.  
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and project execution.  
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and project specifications.  
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.  
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.  
  • Ability to travel and work full-time at project sites.  

 

Preferred 

  • Experience supporting EPC or power generation projects.  
  • Familiarity with commissioning and startup activities.  
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Power BI, or schedule analytics tools.  
  • Knowledge of earned value principles and project controls.  
  • Experience supporting large capital projects ($100M+).  

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Thorough understanding of CPM scheduling principles.  
  • Ability to identify schedule risks before they become project impacts.  
  • Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction workflows.  
  • Ability to prioritize competing project demands.  
  • Excellent attention to detail.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence project teams without direct authority.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.  

 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to work on active construction sites.  
  • Ability to walk uneven terrain, climb stairs and ladders, and access elevated work areas.  
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).  
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.  
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.  

 

Work Environment 

This position is primarily based at active construction sites and requires regular interaction with field personnel, subcontractors, and project leadership. Travel and extended assignments at project locations are expected.
