The SANAD Fund for MSME promotes economic opportunity across the Middle East and North Africa by expanding access to finance for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. Through its investments in local financial institutions and businesses, SANAD helps entrepreneurs grow their companies, create jobs, and strengthen local economies. By combining financial expertise with a strong development mandate, SANAD contributes to building more resilient and inclusive financial systems across the region. 

As Fund Manager, Finance in Motion is responsible for the management of SANAD. The dedicated Fund Management team works at the intersection of finance, development impact, and capital markets, collaborating closely with SANAD’s Fund Director, investment teams, risk management, treasury, operations, and external service providers. The team plays a key role in steering the fund’s financial performance, managing liquidity and capital resources, supporting governance processes, and ensuring the effective execution of the fund’s strategy. 

As an intern, you will gain first-hand insight into how an international impact investment fund is managed in practice. From supporting financial analysis and portfolio monitoring to contributing to fund reporting and governance activities, you will work alongside experienced professionals and gain exposure to a unique combination of private debt investing, fund management, and development finance in a dynamic international environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor macroeconomic, political, and financial sector developments across the MENA region and contribute to market analyses, news briefings, and management updates 
  • Support the Team in financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis of private debt funds, including identifying key financial drivers 
  • Build and maintain Excel-based analyses and working files 
  • Assist in portfolio steering and Asset–Liability Management (ALM) analyses, including liquidity and FX considerations 
  • Help prepare materials for internal strategy discussions 
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses and research related to fund management, financial markets, and portfolio topics

What we expect:
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Strong interest in private debt, impact investing, and macroeconomic sector developments across the MENA region
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills 
  • Good Excel proficiency; experience with financial modelling is an advantage 
  • Structured, detail-oriented, and proactive working style 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international environment 
  • Fluent in English
