Job Description

• Support the Hong Kong business verticals with legal advice on a broad range of operational and business matters spanning from regulatory, intellectual property, e-commerce, employment, privacy, competition, and technology issues.

• Advise, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts with third parties such as marketing partners, suppliers, and restaurants.

• Review products, features, and initiatives to provide practical business-driven legal advice while managing legal risk.

• Be a legal business partner in initiatives that influence all aspects of the business.

• Detail-oriented, proactive mindset and ability to communicate legal concepts clearly to non-legal colleagues.

• Collaborate with our legal teams in Berlin HQ and the APAC region to ensure standardization and alignment on legal matters.

• Support continuous improvement of standard agreements and legal processes.

• Instruct and manage external advisors and counsel, as necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law and called to the Hong Kong solicitor (or equivalent common law jurisdictions).

• 1 to 4 years PQE, with experience dealing with legal commercial matters at a leading law firm or in-house department at a platform, e-commerce, or internet technology company.

• Competition, privacy law and regulatory experience is preferred but not mandatory

• Strong legal knowledge, contract negotiations, writing, and drafting skills.

• Experience in fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up/technology environments with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously under tight deadlines and pressure.

• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English. In addition, the ability to communicate in Cantonese, and/or Mandarin languages would be preferred but not mandatory.

•  Great interpersonal, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience navigating stakeholders through highly ambiguous situations.

• Self-motivated, highly driven, team player, and a self-starter.

• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
