At Tractable, you’ll collaborate with brilliant minds, work on transformative projects, and contribute to technology that helps people when they need it most.About the roleWe’re building LUMA, a drive-through vehicle inspection scanner that combines multi-camera capture, active illumination, and multiple sensor modalities to generate high-fidelity vehicle imagery and measurements.We have an opening for an Electro‑Mechanical Assembly & Test Technician that will assemble production units at our SLC facility. What you’ll doInstall electrical hardware (relays, power distribution units, GFCI outlets) on the scanner frame following wiring diagrams and safety codesMount and secure electronic sub‑assemblies: embedded compute, USB hubs, PoE switches, sensors and machine‑vision camerasRoute, label and strain‑relieve cabling; torque and mark fasteners to specFlash firmware and run scripted diagnostics on cameras and compute modulesExecute final functional tests by driving vehicles through the scanner and logging image/sensor data; troubleshoot and document anomaliesComplete QA checklists in the MES system and sign off units for shipmentProvide feedback to engineering on build pain points; suggest fixture or kitting improvements to shorten assembly time and improve qualityMaintain an ESD‑safe bench and follow IPC‑A‑610, OSHA and company safety practicesWhat we’re looking for2+ years electro‑mechanical assembly, field‑service or technician experienceAble to read basic electrical schematics, wiring schedules and mechanical exploded viewsProficient with hand tools, torque drivers, crimp/ferrule tools; comfortable with light solderingBasic computer literacy: can use Windows/Linux command line to run scripts or update firmwareValid driver’s license (company vehicle provided for test passes)Able to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders or scissor lift when routing overhead cablingContract type: ContractorCompensation: $20-30/hourDiversity commitmentAt Tractable, we are committed to building a diverse team and inclusive workplace where people’s varied backgrounds and experiences are valued and recognised.We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and offer equal opportunities without discrimination.Apply for this Job
