ABOUT THE ROLE

The Portfolio Director, Retail is responsible for the strategic, commercial and operational leadership of Hyve's global retail portfolio. Reporting to the President, Connected Commerce, the role is accountable for the performance, profitability and long-term growth of one of Hyve’s largest global businesses, generating $90 million in revenue and leading a global team of 80 colleagues. 

The Portfolio Director will define and execute the long-term growth strategy for Shoptalk Europe, Shoptalk Spring, Shoptalk Fall, Groceryshop and, following transition back into the portfolio, Shoptalk Luxe. They will strengthen Hyve's position as the world's leading retail community while delivering the next phase of growth to $150 million through innovation, expansion and commercial excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Own and lead the global retail portfolio with full P&L, commercial, digital and operational accountability.
•  Create, evolve and deliver an ambitious global strategy that strengthens the portfolio's market leadership, drives sustainable growth and creates greater value for customers and partners. 
•  Own the commercial performance of the portfolio, working closely with relevant Heads of and commercial leaders to ensure all revenue streams achieve and exceed growth targets. 
•  Deliver accurate forecasting, budgeting and long-term business planning, proactively identifying opportunities and mitigating commercial risks. 
•  When appropriate, lead the successful integration of Shoptalk Luxe back into the retail portfolio, ensuring alignment of teams, operating model, commercial strategy and customer proposition. 
•  Build and inspire a high-performing global organization by setting a clear vision, developing talent and leading teams across a matrixed structure. 
•  Partner with the President, Connected Commerce to identify and evaluate strategic growth opportunities.
•  Regularly review organizational capability and resource requirements to ensure the portfolio is positioned to deliver against its long-term growth ambitions. 
•  Develop a deep understanding of the global retail market, acting as the external face of the portfolio and building strong relationships with retailers, brands, technology providers and strategic partners. 
•  Champion year-round engagement with customers and communities, ensuring the portfolio continues to deliver market-leading experiences and long-term value beyond the live events.

•  Proven track record of delivering significant commercial growth across multiple markets.
•  Experience leading high-performing international teams within a matrixed organization.
•  Strong commercial judgement with the ability to translate strategy into execution.
•  Experience developing market-leading customer propositions, brands and communities.
•  Exceptional stakeholder management skills with credibility at executive level.
•  Experience within relevant B2B sectors is highly desirable.
