About the role
The Functional Analyst will act as a key link between business stakeholders, technical teams, and a European Public Sector client, ensuring that business needs are clearly understood, documented, and translated into practical software solutions. The role is suitable for an experienced Functional Analyst, ideally with 5–10 years of experience, as well as for a developer with strong business analysis skills who is motivated to reskill into a functional role. Italian language fluency is mandatory, as the role requires regular communication with client stakeholders and project teams.
Daily challenges
- Engage with Italian-speaking client stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document business and functional requirements for a European Public Sector project.
- Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria for development and testing teams.
- Analyze current and target processes, identify gaps, and support solution design in line with client expectations, regulatory considerations, and project standards.
- Collaborate closely with developers, testers, architects, and business representatives throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Prepare and support functional test scenarios, participate in system testing, SIT and UAT activities, and help validate defects and fixes.
- Maintain clear communication in Italian and English, ensuring alignment on scope, priorities, timelines, risks, and deliverables.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimize documentation, processes, and delivery practices.
eXperience and skills required
- 5–10 years of professional experience, ideally as a Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, or developer with strong BA skills and motivation to reskill.
- Proven experience as a Functional Analyst in the banking, financial software, or complex enterprise application domain.
- Professional working proficiency in Italian and English (spoken and written), with the ability to support stakeholder workshops, requirements discussions, documentation review, and day-to-day communication.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, functional analysis, and functional testing practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex information clearly.
- Ability to write clear and structured documentation, including functional specifications, process descriptions, test scenarios, and user-facing materials.
- Experience with banking systems or financial applications, knowledge of banking regulatory requirements, and familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies will be considered an advantage.
