About the role:
The Automation Engineering, Engineering Director is responsible for designing, analyzing, and integrating robotics and automation technologies to enhance manufacturing processes. This role focuses on improving equipment reliability and implementing preventative maintenance plans, contributing to Takeda's mission by ensuring efficient and safe manufacturing operations globally.
How you will contribute:
- Lead and guide project teams to achieve milestones and objectives in automation engineering.
- Design, analyze, and integrate robotics and automation technologies for manufacturing processes.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans for equipment and tooling.
- Investigate and document engineering changes, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Recommend equipment reliability improvements through reliability engineering tools.
- Serve as the primary contact for contracts and operations, conducting briefings and meetings with top management and customers.

- Demonstrates strong leadership skills, effectively guiding and motivating project teams to achieve objectives.
- Expert in robotics, recognized as a thought leader, able to innovate and guide on strategic applications and advancements.
- Expert in electronics, recognized as a subject matter expert, providing strategic insights and coaching others, with deep knowledge of electron emission, movement, and regulation.
- Recognized as an expert in motion control systems, able to coach and supervise others, and sought after for strategic advice and thought leadership.
- Recognized expert in systems engineering, with deep expertise in design, integration, and lifecycle management, capable of leading and coaching others.
- Recognized as a subject matter expert in MATLAB, provides strategic insights, coaches others, and is sought after for expert advice.
- Expert in electromechanics, recognized for deep expertise and thought leadership, capable of coaching and supervising others in this domain.
- Possesses deep expertise in mechanical engineering, recognized as an expert, and can coach and supervise others.
- Expert in electrical engineering, recognized as a subject matter expert, providing strategic insights and supervising others.
- Expert in Simulink, recognized as a subject matter expert, and provides strategic insights and supervision in its application and development.
- Recognized as an expert in algorithms, able to coach and supervise others, and considered a thought leader, applying deep expertise in complex and strategic situations.
- Recognized expert in automation, driving strategic initiatives and innovations, and mentoring others on advanced automation technologies.
As a recognized expert within Takeda globally, you possess in-depth expertise in your discipline and broad knowledge across related areas. You're adept at anticipating internal/external challenges, recommending improvements, and solving unique, far-reaching business problems. Your role involves working on abstract issues, assessing intangible variables, contributing to global Business/Functional strategy, and serving as the primary contact for contracts and operations, conducting briefings and meetings with top management and customers.
