Job Purpose
Lead, oversee, and continuously improve the Indiana Auto Plant Quality Division Quality Management System (QMS), Record Management, and Calibration programs to ensure sustained compliance, risk mitigation, and alignment with Plant, Regional, and Global quality requirements.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the Division Calibration program as the primary SME and liaison between calibration vendors, internal customers, and plant leadership; establish strategy for
sustainability, compliance, and continuous improvement. - Own and govern Division and Department record management systems to ensure compliance with retention requirements and alignment with HDMA, NA, and ISO
standards. - Lead integration and continuous improvement of QMS into electronic systems for document control and training records; define requirements, procure resources, and
ensure long-term sustainability. - Serve as the primary QMS Subject Matter Expert (SME) to Departments on QMS procedures, audits, equipment, calibration, training, record management, and
risk-based decision-making. - Lead and coordinate Internal and External QMS audit activity to maintain ISO 9001 compliance, including planning, execution, communication, documentation, and
corrective action closure. - Own Corrective Action Management within electronic databases, providing best-practice guidance on root cause analysis, countermeasure development, and
effectiveness verification. - Lead and support auditor certification and capability development activities as required.
- Develop, maintain, and govern QMS systems at the Division and Department level, including procedure development, revision, training, control, and risk identification.
Serve as the LO QMS Committee Representative. - Lead consistent application of PDCA, risk assessment, and process-based methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 0–6 years of experience based on education and background.
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification preferred but not required; equivalent audit experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ISO-related standards
- Demonstrated application of PDCA methodology and risk assessment
- Basic Auditing Principles
- Conflict resolution and consensus-building between cross-functional stakeholders
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Effective communicator with ability to influence at multiple organizational levels
- Independent judgment and advanced problem-solving capability
- Strong process-based approach
- Advanced knowledge of ISO 9001 and its relationship to other quality standards
- Governance-level knowledge of record management systems
- Subject-matter expertise in calibration systems and compliance risk
Working Conditions
- Desk work in office environment within automotive factory.
- At the spot (factory floor) judgement to understand actual situation during internal audits.
- 5-10% domestic travel.
