Primary Location: United States (US) - Georgia - Grovetown Function: Product Engineering (CA) Title: Electrical Engineer - 122064 Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position

Your Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer for John Deere located in Grovetown, GA, you will develop vehicle electrical systems on Compact Utility Tractors. You will work closely with supply management, quality, PV&V, program management and other cross-functional teams throughout the product development process. Additionally, you will:

  • Own and develop electrical system requirements (hardware and/or software) in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Develop and release electrical system/embedded components, including but not limited to harnesses, switches, and lighting in the John Deere production system
  • Create and organize bills of material for electrical systems on John Deere vehicles • Work with outside suppliers on component feasibility, development, and integration
  • Lead complete vehicle electrical systems integration, select electrical architecture and technology-stack components
  • Provide build support across all stages of the product development cycle

What Skills You Need

  • 1+ year of vehicle electrical system design, integration, or testing experience
  • Experience with electrical component development, wiring harness, schematics, and a good understanding of software/hardware interaction
  • Demonstrated experience owning and managing project deliverables
  • Knowledge of general product development processes
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively
  • Provide clear concise oral/written communication
  • Ability to work off-shift hours, as needed, to support production during builds

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Agriculture or other off-highway vehicle development experience
  • Experience creating and maintaining bills of material for vehicle systems or test equipment systems
  • Experience developing wiring harnesses and electrical systems using Capital Harness Systems (CHS) or 3D CAD tools
  • Experience leading and training new team members/peers
  • Experience leading design/test work performed by remotely located team members
  • Advanced training in additional engineering disciplines
  • Experience with systems engineering practices

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or electronics engineering
