What We Want

The Brand Manager contributes to the development and execution of Texas A&M University’s brand strategy, platform, and marketing campaigns. This role plays a critical part in enhancing the University's reputation, increasing national and international visibility, and fostering engagement with target audiences. The Brand Manager will work closely with various departments, colleagues, and partners to ensure a cohesive and compelling brand presence across all channels.  Responsible for the design and execution of integrated programs of work aimed at enhancing the university’s strength and stature with resonance across target audiences.

Responsibilities

Brand Strategy Development & Management

  • Contribute to and help guide the creation, implementation, and management of Texas A&M University's brand strategy, positioning, and platform
  • Participate in market research and analyze trends to identify opportunities and challenges in optimally positioning Texas A&M University with target audiences to achieve objectives
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, colleagues, and agency partners to align the brand strategy with the University's mission, vision, values, and goals
  • Stay on top of industry, brand marketing and pop culture trends and cultural moments to identify proactive opportunities

Marketing Campaign Management

  • Help develop and oversee execution of comprehensive marketing campaigns to promote the University's brand and key messages with target audiences to achieve strategic objectives
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external agency partners to produce high-quality marketing materials to help create, reinforce, and/or change target audience attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors
  • Utilize various channels, including digital, social media, print, OOH, and events, to maximize campaign reach and impact

Brand Governance

  • Help establish and maintain brand guidelines to ensure consistent and accurate use of the University's brand assets
  • Help build, assemble, and provide training, support, and core assets to colleagues, internal stakeholders, and external partners to uphold brand standards, leverage best practices, and promote Texas A&M University in character and in harmony
  • Monitor and assess brand performance and make data-driven recommendations for improvement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, former students, and community partners
  • Act as a primary point of contact for brand-and asset-related inquiries and initiatives
  • Foster a culture of brand advocacy within the University community

Creative Development

  • Help lead the creative direction for brand-related projects, including visual identity, messaging, and storytelling
  • Lead and contribute to the production of multimedia content packages to drive excellent storytelling
  • Ensure all creative outputs are aligned with the brand strategy and resonate with target audiences

Performance Management

  • Set measurable objectives for brand initiatives and track progress against these goals
  • Analyze campaign performance data and generate reports to inform decision-making
  • Continuously optimize strategies based on insights and feedback

 

Qualifications

 Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five years of experience in brand marketing or brand management

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in brand management, marketing or related role
  • Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and design
  • Passion for and deep understanding of Texas A&M’s mission, values, and culture

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful brand strategies and marketing campaigns
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, and content creation
  • Self-driven with strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage shifting priorities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and proactively recognize topical opportunities
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

 

Other Requirements

  • This position is security sensitive

  • This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures

  • All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements
