About The Company

goop is a lifestyle platform dedicated to exploration, curation, and groundbreaking conversation. From its award-winning beauty and fashion lines to its expansive editorial lens, goop invites women to embrace the process of becoming, and to discover deep joy in the pursuit of pleasure, beauty, and growth in all phases of life.

Gwyneth Paltrow began goop in the fall of 2008 as a weekly newsletter. It has expanded into a beauty, fashion, and food business that’s also known for its products, curation, podcast, TV shows, live events, and retail stores.

About You

You operate in founder mode: high agency, high EQ, and razor-sharp instincts. You read the room quickly, sense what's needed before you're asked, and move on it. You are a thoughtful and proactive strategic partner who excels at aligning teams, priorities, and communication — equally comfortable zooming out to understand company-wide operations and strategy, and diving in to drive execution on critical initiatives.

This role represents the Co-CEOs' interests across three worlds: goop's business (beauty & fashion), Gwyneth's media presence, and investment interests. You move fluidly between them, often within the same day.

You are AI-first and AI-native. You don't wait for someone else to build the tool — you build it yourself: standing up Notion dashboards, wiring together plugins and AI agents, and turning no-code experiments into real operational workflows for the Co-CEOs and executive team. With strong communication instincts and sound judgment, you navigate senior stakeholders with confidence and help ensure clarity, alignment, and momentum across the organization.

Who You Are

  • Founder-mode operator — high agency and an ability to act on instinct, before being asked
  • Context-switcher — comfortable moving between all three worlds in the same day
  • Exceptional communicator — confident and clear across formats and audiences
  • Operational powerhouse — you drive structure, efficiency, and accountability in fast-moving, complex environments
  • Sharp writer and researcher — you produce clean, efficient memos, updates, and diligence work that get straight to the point, no fluff
  • Highly collaborative with a good sense of humor — you stay warm, steady, and easy to work with under pressure
  • Highly trustworthy and discreet — you'll handle sensitive information and critical relationships
  • Action-oriented leader — you don't just advise; you own and drive results

How You Operate

  • You operate in full alignment with the Co-CEOs' thinking — when you speak on their behalf, you speak with clarity and conviction, and you recalibrate fast when something's off
  • You extend the Co-CEOs' reach: proactively managing every relationship that matters
  • You communicate early and often — proactive updates are the default, not the exception
  • You're warm and honest — you handle direct communication well and don't avoid hard conversations
  • You assume good intent and offer people the benefit of the doubt — and expect the same in return
  • You understand that small gestures, done right, build long-term trust and relationship equity

About the Role

The Chief of Staff will serve as a strategic partner to goop's Co-CEOs and executive team, driving strategic alignment, execution, and communication across the organization. This role reports directly to the Co-CEOs, representing their interests across three worlds: goop's business (beauty & fashion), Gwyneth's media presence, and investment interests — working across time zones with global, cross-functional teams. The Chief of Staff must be able to shift context across these worlds multiple times in a single day without losing focus or dropping a thread, and ensures the Co-CEOs' priorities are clearly translated into action across each of them — supporting effective executive operations and helping shape company-wide operations, communication, and culture — while owning a high volume of board, portfolio, and investment work across the business.

CO-CEO PARTNERSHIP & STRATEGIC SUPPORT

  • Ensure the Co-CEOs' priorities are clearly communicated across the organization and support the Co-CEOs in driving execution by direct reports and cross-functional teams
  • Act as gatekeeper — knowing when to filter and when to let things flow directly — and, as requested by the Co-CEOs, serve as proxy in key meetings, synthesizing, summarizing, and relaying critical insights to inform decision-making
  • Field, review, prioritize, and, where appropriate, respond to incoming requests, proposals, and opportunities directed to the Co-CEOs
  • Work closely with the Co-CEOs' Executive Assistant(s) to communicate and sequence priorities, manage scheduling trade-offs, and optimize the Co-CEOs' time and focus — across time zones as needed
  • Prepare executive-ready briefings, memos, and presentations — equipping the Co-CEOs with the context, data, and materials needed for internal, board, and external engagements
  • Shape how the Co-CEOs represent the company's strategy and brand to internal teams, the board, media, and external partners
  • Collaborate with the social media team to execute the Co-CEOs' personal social presence across channels, ensuring authenticity, alignment with brand values, and consistency with their voice
  • Partner with the Head of Communications to prepare the Co-CEOs for media appearances and public engagements — building background materials, researching attendees and guests, and managing protocol
  • Coordination with podcast production team, as needed

AI-ENABLED OPERATIONS & SYSTEMS

  • Design, build, and maintain AI-driven systems — including a Co-CEO-facing Notion dashboard layered with plugins and AI agents — serving as the single source of truth for real-time visibility into priorities, decisions, and follow-ups across all three worlds
  • Continuously explore and test new AI tools, plugins, and agents, turning promising ones into practical, repeatable workflows for the Co-CEOs and executive team
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to spot operational bottlenecks and solve them with AI-driven automation and internal tooling
  • Monitor the performance of AI-driven workflows and iterate for continual improvement
  • Build documentation and best practices for AI-enabled operations so tools and workflows scale and transfer beyond any one person

EXECUTIVE TEAM LEADERSHIP & STRATEGIC OPERATIONS

  • Lead and facilitate weekly executive team meetings, including setting clear agendas, driving accountability, and ensuring timely follow-through on action items
  • Meet regularly with senior subject-matter leaders to align on priorities, share Co-CEO context, and ensure cross-functional clarity and collaboration
  • Serve as a trusted strategic partner to every department head — not just the C-suite — translating the Co-CEOs' priorities into function-specific plans and holding cross-functional teams accountable to them
  • Facilitate alignment and communication between the Co-CEOs and direct reports to accelerate decision-making and maintain organizational focus
  • Partner with executive leaders to develop OKRs and track execution against strategic priorities
  • Act as lead strategic project manager on key cross-functional initiatives, ensuring clear ownership, timelines, and outcomes
  • When requested by the Co-CEOs or other executives, contribute to strategic discussions by providing context and insights that reflect Co-CEO and company priorities
  • Capture notes and action items during board and offsite sessions; track follow-ups and ensure accountability across functional leaders
  • Own ambiguous, high-priority special projects that don't have a clear owner — from research sprints to one-off initiatives — and see them through to completion

COMPANY-WIDE COMMUNICATION & CULTURE

  • Shape Co-CEO-led communications for all-company meetings and standups, ensuring alignment with the company's values, strategy, and priorities
  • Partner with the People team to develop monthly standup agendas, coordinating with functional leaders to highlight key initiatives and ensure diverse team representation
  • Partner cross-functionally to source, edit, and align content for company-wide meetings — overseeing slide development and deck design to ensure clarity, consistency, and on-brand voice
  • Prepare the Co-CEOs' talking points and visual aids to support effective delivery and high employee engagement
  • Coordinate logistics and production details to ensure seamless execution of company-wide meetings and events

BOARD, PORTFOLIO & INVESTMENT SUPPORT

  • Drive preparation and execution for quarterly board meetings, including cross-functional coordination for content collection, synthesis, and development of board-ready materials
  • Own end-to-end development of board decks, board presentations, and corporate executive presentations — content, synthesis, and design — ensuring materials are polished and aligned with strategic priorities across goop and goop beauty
  • Build and manage corporate agendas across the business, from executive offsites to board sessions to company-wide meetings
  • Partner with the Co-CEOs and executive team to ensure board discussions and materials are aligned with key strategic priorities and business performance
  • Design and execute off-site retreats — from agenda architecture that balances strategic discussion, business planning, and team-building, to logistics and follow-through on action items
  • Support portfolio management and investment-related workstreams — tracking opportunities, coordinating diligence, and keeping materials current across goop, goop beauty, and Gwyneth's broader investment activities
  • Partner closely with Corporate Development on deal flow, diligence, and new investment or partnership opportunities
  • Collaborate with the Co-CEOs' Executive Assistant(s) on logistics and scheduling, while leading content flow, sequencing, and communication of expectations to the executive tea.
  • Coordinate cross-functional contributors and external facilitators to deliver impactful sessions that advance company goals

CROSS-PORTFOLIO RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

  • Manage the CRM and contact records — keeping them accurate, deduplicated, and consistently structured (you don't need to build the CRM, but you own how well it runs)
  • Track engagement and relationship health across investors, board members, founders, and key partners — flagging relationships before they go cold
  • Run periodic audits across relationships and initiatives to surface what needs re-engagement, escalation, or a decision from the Co-CEOs
  • Act as the connective tissue across Gwyneth's world — the person who always knows what's happening across all three worlds, and can brief the Co-CEOs on any of them at a moment's notice
