About the Role

As a Senior Document Controller / Documentation Specialist, you'll be responsible for managing documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Your work will help ensure customers receive complete, accurate, and timely documentation packages while supporting efficient collaboration across engineering, project management, suppliers, and customers.

You'll become part of the Document Control team supporting NOV's Drilling, Aftermarket, and Marine & Construction businesses. Reporting to the Manager Document Control – Europe, Asia & Middle East, you'll contribute to projects that support customers worldwide.

  • Manage project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate documentation activities with Project Managers, Engineers, customers, suppliers, and classification societies.
  • Create, maintain, review, and distribute project documentation in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Monitor documentation schedules and provide regular status reporting to project teams.
  • Prepare and deliver complete customer documentation packages within agreed timelines.
  • Create and maintain user manuals and other technical documentation.
  • Support internal and external documentation workflows and document control processes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of document control methods and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records using document management and ERP systems.
  • Support additional documentation-related activities as required.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Technical/Professional Diploma (relevant experience may substitute for formal education).
  • Experience in Document Control, Technical Documentation, or Documentation Management.
  • Experience working with document management or document handling systems.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including working with large datasets, documentation trackers, and reporting.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Norwegian.

     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within project-based organizations.
  • Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, offshore, marine, or energy projects.
  • Knowledge of documentation requirements for customers, suppliers, and classification societies.
  • Experience preparing technical manuals and customer documentation packages.
