About the Team

The Market Intelligence team is part of the Commercial Excellence Iberia organization and provides strategic market intelligence, analytics and forecasting capabilities that support critical business decisions across Spain and Portugal.

Working closely with Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Leadership Teams, the department delivers actionable insights that guide portfolio strategy, commercial execution, forecasting and business development.

Approximately 70% of the role will focus on Spain, with the remaining scope supporting Portugal and broader Iberia initiatives.

The Market Intelligence Analyst Iberia transforms complex market data into strategic insights that influence key business decisions across the Iberia affiliate.

This role combines analytical excellence, business understanding and stakeholder management to deliver high-impact analyses, develop business intelligence solutions and lead analytical initiatives that support commercial strategy, forecasting and portfolio development.

From the outset, the successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of projects with limited supervision, confidently engage with senior stakeholders and proactively identify opportunities to improve the way data is leveraged across the organization.

The role is based in Madrid and collaborates closely with teams across both Spain and Portugal.

Key Responsibilities

Market Analytics & Strategic Insights

  • Generate market, competitor and business analyses that support strategic and commercial decision-making across Iberia.
  • Monitor market performance, competitive dynamics and key business indicators, identifying trends, risks and growth opportunities.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear business recommendations and present insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Evaluate market opportunities using internal and external data sources to support portfolio and commercial strategy.
  • Design, coordinate and interpret market research projects in collaboration with external partners.
  • Develop business cases and analytical materials supporting strategic initiatives and investment decisions.

Business Intelligence & Reporting

  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve Power BI dashboards and business intelligence solutions supporting commercial performance.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency and timely availability across reporting platforms.
  • Own recurring reporting processes while identifying opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to data governance activities, including data validation, mapping and documentation.
  • Collaborate with regional and global teams to continuously improve reporting capabilities and resolve data issues.

  • Validate and consolidate commercial assumptions for forecasting cycles across Iberia.
  • Prepare analytical inputs and datasets supporting forecasting models.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and identify opportunities to improve forecasting methodologies.
  • Contribute to the continuous evolution of forecasting processes, tools and governance.

Business Development & Portfolio Analytics

  • Evaluate portfolio opportunities through market, epidemiology and competitive analyses.
  • Analyze market size, pricing dynamics and competitive intelligence to support business cases.
  • Develop analytical materials supporting launch decisions and portfolio strategy.
  • Monitor launch performance and generate post-launch insights and recommendations.

Business Partnering

  • Act as a trusted analytical partner for Marketing, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Regulatory and other business functions across Iberia, building strong relationships to understand business needs and deliver actionable insights.
  • Present analytical findings and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders, enabling informed business and commercial decisions.
  • Collaborate with other Commercial Excellence functions on cross-functional initiatives, supporting evolving business priorities and ensuring alignment of data, reporting and performance measurement across the organization.
  • Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of processes, tools and ways of working that enhance commercial effectiveness.
  • Deliver training and guidance on Power BI and business intelligence solutions, promoting data literacy and the adoption of self-service analytics.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and optimize reporting and analytical processes.
  • Recommend improvements to dashboards, KPIs and analytical methodologies.
  • Stay up to date with pharmaceutical market trends, analytical techniques and business intelligence technologies.
  • Contribute to the continuous evolution of Commercial Excellence capabilities across the Iberia affiliate.

About Your Skills & Experience

We are looking for an analytical professional who is ready to take ownership early, lead initiatives with limited supervision and confidently communicate with senior business stakeholders.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Life Sciences or a related discipline.
  • A Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Market Research, MBA or Pharmaceutical Management is considered an advantage.

Experience

  • 2–3 years of experience in Market Intelligence, Business Intelligence, Commercial Excellence, Strategy, Consulting or Data Analytics.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing analytical projects with limited supervision and delivering insights to business stakeholders.
  • Experience interacting with senior stakeholders and presenting analytical recommendations is highly valued.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Power BI.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with multiple internal and external data sources.
  • Experience with IQVIA, Veeva, FlexView or similar market intelligence platforms is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Power Query or Python is desirable.

Languages

  • Fluent Spanish.
  • Professional English.
