Senior Scala Developer -Assistant Vice President
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Mid to Senior-Level Scala Developer to join our team. The role involves developing microservices, Kafka publishers and subscribers, batch jobs, and graph data modeling using Neo4j. The components you build will be deployed on Citi's internal Cloud infrastructure as Pods and on Linux machines. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Scala, with strong hands-on experience in Kafka and Neo4j, and a focus on producing high-quality, well-tested code.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain microservices using Scala.
- Build and manage Kafka publishers and subscribers for real-time data streaming.
- Develop and optimize batch jobs for data processing and automation.
- Perform graph data modeling using Neo4j to support application requirements and enhance system performance.
- Deploy components on Citi's internal Cloud infrastructure and Linux machines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand, challenge, and refine requirements.
- Ensure code quality through rigorous testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Scala programming language.
- Hands-on experience developing microservices in Scala.
- Solid experience with Apache Kafka for real-time, event-driven data streaming.
- Strong working knowledge of Neo4j — graph data modeling, Cypher queries, and performance optimization.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- Experience deploying applications on Cloud platforms and Linux environments.
- Proven ability to produce well-tested, maintainable, and high-quality code.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to understand and challenge requirements effectively.
Recommended Qualifications:
- 8-12 years of relevant experience
- Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
- Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
- Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
