FANUC Robotic Welding Programmer & Operator

Job Summary:

The Robotic Weld Programmer is a hands-on role responsible for supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality production through robotic welding systems. This position works closely with supervisors, engineers, and operators to maintain production flow, troubleshoot issues, improve processes, and ensure weld quality meets company standards. The role is expected to actively support daily floor operations, production efficiency, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of robotic welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with FANUC, ABB, or Motoman robots.
  • Strong MIG welding knowledge.
  • Overhead Crane preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Program, teach, and troubleshoot robotic welding systems (FANUC, ABB, Moto man/Yaskawa or similar).
  • Support daily production needs by addressing robot faults, weld issues, and downtime events.
  • Develop and optimize weld programs to meet quality, cycle time, and throughput targets.
  • Adjust welding parameters such as voltage, wire speed, travel speed, and gas flow.
  • Work directly with operators and supervisors to resolve production issues.
  • Perform weld quality checks and ensure compliance with company and customer standards.
  • Identify root causes of weld defects and implement corrective action.
  • Support new product launches, fixture validation, and process setup.
  • Maintain organized documentation of robot programs and changes.
  • Train operators on robotic safety, operations, and basic troubleshooting.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is on-site 5 days per week.
  • Occasional travel may be required for training or meetings.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate different business needs.
