This position offers a gross TTC annual salary range of 72 000 and 77 000 €, in line with the collective bargaining agreement and the company compensation philosophy. The final offer will reflect the candidate’s experience, qualifications and the specific responsibilities of the role.    

 

 

What you will do

 

  • Lead a distributed team of 7+ talented engineers who are taking care of the B2C TheFork products (website and mobile apps)
  • Own day-to-day execution decisions, delivery on time and maintaining a high bar of quality.
  • Optimise the team’s processes to balance velocity and quality and promote a culture of excellence.
  • Co-own roadmap planning with your product and design counterparts.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to deliver large-scale initiatives, managing dependencies and ensuring seamless collaboration.
  • Participate in the overall tech strategy and management of the B2C Tribe with other engineering managers, staff engineers, and architects.
  • Make sure your team is heard, fully motivated and aligned with the rest of the teams in the tribe and in the engineering department as a whole.
  • Hire, mentor and motivate engineering talent.
  • Give constructive feedback, performance reviews and compensation reviews to your team.
  • Leverage AI to enhance everyday engineering work by accelerating development, improving code quality, automating repetitive tasks, and enabling smarter decision-making

 

You will report directly to the B2C Head of Engineering, and you will peer up with the other engineering managers and senior individual contributors.

 

Who you are

 

  • You have already coached and mentored 5+ people teams, including senior software engineers, for at least 3 years.
  • You have experience leading a high-performing technical team in a distributed environment.
  • Self-motivated, curious and passionate engineer at heart.
  • Have an excellent grasp of system design and modern architecture patterns.
  • You have knowledge or hands-on experience with technologies like React, TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, Kotlin/Swift, and RabbitMQ.
  • Exposed to different agile methodologies and understand deeply how to apply and use them in the right context.
  • You have a quality-first mentality, can set high standards for your team and participate in mentoring and upskilling the team.
  • Someone who has strong product acumen and a solid understanding of product principles. 
  • You have good experience with dev tools and AI workflows, and are always curious to experiment with and bring forward new technologies.
  • You are very comfortable writing and speaking constantly in English.
