Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work with low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Each day, you will plan and execute work on a first-time right approach with customers. You will also showcase your expertise by displaying a clear understanding of sense of urgency and care in your own area of responsibility.

This role is contributing to the Motion Services in Indonesia.


You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer’s operations and eliminate pain points.
  • Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products.
  • Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
  • Troubleshooting equipment/process failures, requesting proactive corrective actions, and making recommendations to avoid such issues in the future.

Qualifications for the role
  • Passionate about Motors, Drives, and Motion technologies, with a strong interest in supporting customers across industrial applications and helping improve operational performance.
  • 0-2 years of experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field, preferably with exposure to field service, commissioning, maintenance, or troubleshooting of industrial electrical equipment. Experience with drive products is an advantage.
  • Good technical knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and drive systems, including installation, commissioning, diagnostics, maintenance, and fault-finding activities.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with a solid understanding of power systems, electrical equipment, and industrial automation.​​​
  • Knowledge of medium- and high-power electrical systems, motors, drives, and associated control systems used in industrial environments.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated team player with a customer-focused mindset, willing to travel for on-site service assignments while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
