The Senior Data Governance Analyst is responsible for specializing in-depth knowledge in the development, implementation, and enforcement of data governance policies, procedures, and frameworks across Zayo. This role will ensure that data assets are well-managed, accurate, accessible, and secure while maintaining compliance with internal and external policies. The Senior Data Governance Analyst will work closely with business units, data stewards, product owners, and leadership to ensure that data is used effectively and responsibly. A candidate with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Data Governance:
Will design and implement data governance frameworks and policies.
Develop and maintain data dictionaries, data catalogs, and metadata management processes.
Ensure data management processes comply with legal, regulatory, and internal guidelines.
Data Quality and Integrity:
Monitor data quality and integrity across various applications and business processes.
Collaborate with data stewards and other stakeholders to resolve data quality issues.
Conduct root cause analysis for data inconsistencies and recommend solutions.
Data Stewardship and Collaboration:
Act as a liaison between business units and the Chief Data Office to ensure alignment on data management objectives.
Support data stewards in defining data ownership and accountability.
Provide training and guidance on data governance best practices.
Risk Management and Compliance:
Support Subject Matter Expert for external audits and assessments of data-related risks and regulatory compliance.
Establish controls and monitoring processes to mitigate data risks.
Document and report data governance activities, risks, and compliance statuses.
Reporting and Analytics:
Generate reports on data governance metrics, such as data quality KPIs, policy adherence, and issue resolution.
Design action plans to improve data quality.
Develop dashboards to track and communicate data governance progress to leadership.
Continuous Improvement:
Recommend enhancements to data governance policies and processes to align with evolving business needs.
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to data governance and data privacy.
Qualifications
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Minimum of seven (7) years proven experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
Strong understanding of data governance principles, practices, and technologies.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Experience with AWS, Azure, Snowflake, and data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation) is a plus.
Certification in relevant areas such as data governance, data management, or cloud computing is desirable.
Proficient in SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Sigma).
Familiarity with data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or Alation.
Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
Estimated base salary range: $95,100 - $146,300 USD/annually.
The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
