The Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, safety, and overall appearance of Opensity Solutions client facilities. This role supports daily facility operations by performing maintenance tasks, ensuring workplace readiness, managing supplies, and delivering exceptional customer service to employees, clients, and visitors. The Porter plays a key role in creating a clean, safe, and professional environment that reflects the service standards and values of Opensity Solutions. The position reports to the Lead Porter or Client Relations Manager and is classified as non-exempt.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards throughout office spaces, common areas, and client facilities.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs, cleanliness concerns, or safety issues and address them promptly.
- Perform general facility maintenance and light repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and equipment setup tasks.
- Repair and maintain office furniture, doors, fixtures, windows, and related facility components as needed.
- Patch and paint walls, ceilings, and surfaces to maintain a professional workplace appearance.
- Install appliances, office fixtures, equipment, and furniture as required to support workplace operations.
- Assist with furniture assembly, workspace setups, and facility support projects.
- Collaborate with facilities, maintenance, and operational teams to support facility improvement initiatives and workplace readiness.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service to employees, clients, and visitors while responding to facility-related requests and concerns.
- Serve as a point of contact for facility support issues and escalate concerns appropriately when necessary.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, maintenance tools, equipment, and workplace materials to ensure operational readiness.
- Monitor supply levels and coordinate replenishment orders while maintaining adherence to budgetary and operational guidelines.
- Support inventory control processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and resource management.
- Promote and maintain compliance with workplace safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine safety inspections to identify potential hazards and support corrective action initiatives.
- Collaborate with management and stakeholders to improve workplace safety standards and facility conditions.
- Prepare reports related to facility maintenance activities, operational concerns, inventory status, and customer feedback as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs, including workplace safety, equipment operation, and customer service training.
- Support team development initiatives by sharing operational knowledge and best practices with peers and team members.
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and adherence to Opensity Solutions service standards at all times.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:
- Strong understanding of facility maintenance, workplace cleanliness, and porter support operations.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repair techniques.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills with a client-first mindset.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in fast-paced workplace environments.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to identify facility issues proactively and implement timely solutions.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and operational compliance.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and workplace technology systems.
- Positive attitude, adaptability, professionalism, and strong teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift or move 40 lbs. or greater
- Ability to grasp, lift or carry packages on a standard wheeled cart with a load capacity of 75 lbs.
- Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand or sit for an extended period of time
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or vocational training preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in porter services, hospitality support, facilities maintenance, corporate services, or related operational roles.
Technical Skills: Experience performing light maintenance, facility support, inventory management, and workplace setup activities. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred
Communication Skills
Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Emotional intelligence is a plus!
