What you’ll do:

The Facilities Technician – Electrician III/IV-Days will be required to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, and utility equipment in support of a Multi-Product Large Scale Biologics Manufacturing Facility, which operates 24/7.

Shift: M-F 5:30AM – 2PM, with alternating on-call support.

The Technician will be responsible for:

  • Appropriate knowledge for Alarm Management of utility and facility equipment, such as HVAC air handlers, refrigeration, cold rooms, chillers, cooling tower, pumps and drives, electrical switchgear, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, and emergency generators.
  • May work on electrical equipment associated with process equipment, such as bioreactors, centrifuges, purification processing skids, purification columns, glasswashers, and autoclaves.
  • Experience with refrigeration systems within cold rooms, refrigerators, freezers, ultra-low freezers
  • (-80°C), incubators, cryogenic freezers, and HVAC systems.
  • Familiar with NEC and local electrical codes.
  • Performing work in one or more of the following trades: HVAC/refrigeration, electrical.
  • Completing any required (GxP) documentation in a timely manner, including logbooks and work orders.
  • Use of basic hand tools, conduit bender and threader.

Minimum Qualifications:

Facilities Technician III & IV

  • Good planning and project management skills are necessary
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial electrical systems, such as power distribution, motor controls, drives, switchgear, generators, and related utility equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, P&IDs, and technical manuals
  • Must be able to read, write and utilize drawings, mathematics, handbook formulas
  • Working knowledge of NEC and applicable local electrical codes
  • Experience using a CMMS or similar work order/documentation system
  • Ability to complete GMP/GxP documentation accurately and on time
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom and manufacturing environment with required PPE
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, and extended standing
  • Ability to work at heights, in mechanical rooms, outdoor conditions, and cleanroom spaces
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency, including work order systems, email, and electronic documentation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical safety practices and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  • Familiarity with arc-flash, shock, permits, and safety procedures
  • Ability to identify unsafe conditions, stop work when necessary and escalate safety concerns promptly
  • Ability to safely use electrical test equipment, hand tools, and required PPE

Facilities Technician III:

  • 5 to 10 Years with a High School diploma, technical school or a certificate of completion at a 2-year technical school
  • 1 to 3+ Years of experience in plant or equipment maintenance, or military training with majority of experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry.

Facilities Technician IV:

  • 10 - 15 years with a High School diploma, technical school, certificate of completion at a 2-year technical school.
  • 3 to 5+ Years of experience in plant or equipment maintenance, or military training with majority of experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Biotech, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing experience
  • Journeyman electrician license or equivalent apprenticeship completion
  • Experience with HVAC/refrigeration systems and critical utilities
  • Experience with BMS/EMS systems
  • Experience supporting 24/7 manufacturing operations and on-call response
  • Experience with emergency power systems

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $ 65,068 – $97,602 Annual USD. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program. Benefits offered include a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
