USSTRATCOM is a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services essential to national security. It oversees Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO), Global Strike, and Missile Threat Assessments, working closely with other Combatant Commands, Services, and defense agencies. SCITLS will be a key component that will ensure mission success and the safety of the U.S. and its allies by providing 24/7 IT services and network support for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, and SAP/SAR environments.
CMDB ARCHITECT
- Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of the ServiceNow CMDB aligned with enterprise standards and business objectives
- Designs, develops, and maintains ServiceNow CMDB to ensure efficient ITSM processes and enhance the overall user experience.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable ServiceNow configurations and integrations
- Define and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB architecture roadmap, guiding long-term platform growth and governance
- Provide expert-level guidance on ServiceNow best practices, including database performance, security, data model design, and upgrade planning
- Oversee development activities and ensure technical designs are implemented according to architectural standards
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, validate solution designs, and provide strategic CMDB recommendations
- Design and optimize integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise systems using REST, SOAP, MID Server, IntegrationHub, or other technologies
- Conduct technical reviews, code reviews, and architectural assessments to ensure high-quality delivery
- Ensure database compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for database issues and provide advanced technical escalation support
- Develop and maintain architectural documentation, including data models, system diagrams, and configuration standards
- Champion CMDB governance and lead Configuration Item (CI) Managers in the maintenance and overall health of CI’s.
- Guide and mentor ServiceNow developers and administrators, promoting continual learning and technical excellence
- Stay current with ServiceNow releases, new capabilities, and industry trends, advising leadership on opportunities to leverage them
- Support solutioning efforts by creating high-level designs, estimates, and architectural recommendations
- Designs, develops, and customizes ServiceNow integrations to meet business needs.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other systems.
ITOM/ITAM/ITSM Specific
- Architect and lead end‑to‑end ITOM implementations, including Discovery, Service Mapping, CMDB, Event Management, and AIOps
- Define CMDB data models, CI class standards, relationship strategies, and governance rules across the enterprise
- Drive maturity programs for CMDB health, reconciliation, data quality, and service dependency mapping
- Architect large‑scale Discovery patterns, MID Server strategies, scanning frameworks, and credential management processes
- Integrate ITOM data with ITSM, SecOps, Observability
- Lead architectural design for automation workflows using Orchestration, IntegrationHub, and cloud-native integrations
- Establish patterns for AIOps event correlation, noise reduction, alert enrichment, and topology‑driven automation
- Advise leadership on operational readiness, service modeling strategies, and ITOM roadmap development
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Requires a Bachelors Degree in STEM discipline, 10+ years of experience
- Masters Degree is desired
- Security Clearance Level: Must have a current/active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI status
- Required Certifications: ITIL 4 Foundation; DoD 8140 compliant cyber certification
- Location: Offutt AFB, NE

The likely salary range for this position is $170,144 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Scheduled Weekly Hours:
