What we want
The Postdoctoral Research Associate is responsible for conducting psychiatric genetics research. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will utilize and expand the skills and expertise developed during their PhD training to complete research projects in this field. This includes conducting advanced genomic analyses, writing and presenting research projects, and other general departmental activities. May collaborate with other researchers and/or faculty, locally, nationally and internationally.

Responsibilities
Research
Conducting research into psychiatric genetics, under general supervision.
Utilize knowledge and skills consistent with their education and expertise to complete research projects in psychiatric genetics.
Analyze genomic and phenotypic data and summarize the results.
Write and contribute to research papers, book chapters, and other scholarly endeavors.
Mentoring
May assist, mentor, and/or supervise student researchers.
Presentations
Prepare presentation materials on research topic that may be presented to small and/or large groups.
Actively participate in the preparation of required technical progress reports to research sponsors.
Data management
Harmonizing phenotypes and genomic data from distinct studies.
Maintaining accurate code repositories for quality control and analytical algorithms
Manages storage drives and maintains datasets.
Required Education and Experience:
Doctorate degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, genetics or related fields
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. with an emphasis on Statistical Genetics or Quantitative Genetics.
Knowledge of multivariate techniques; repeated measures designs; path analysis, discriminant and factor analyses; and structural equation modeling.
Knowledge of quantitative genetic approaches such as genome-wide association, post-GWAS analyses, and genetic imputation.
Experience conducting analyses in the R statistical package.
Programming experience on a Unix or Linux platform.
Experience in conducting statistical genetic or quantitative genetic analyses
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to present information clearly and effectively.
Effective analytical skills.
Ability to work independently once given a project.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Knowledge of probability theory, regression, and analysis of variance.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
