Job Description:

Airbus Commercial  is looking for a Sr.Facilities Manager - Real Estate, P&I, Sustainability to join our team in Herndon, VA.

In this role you will contribute to business objectives through the strategic application of corporate real estate and facilities knowledge, resources and influence. The position develops and delivers comprehensive and strategic solutions in support of business operations across the organization and North America, resulting in measurable, cost effective, value-added, and reliable results that contribute to the achievement of Airbus annual and long-term business objectives.

Your Challenges:

Project Leadership and M&A 45%

  • Manage high-profile, strategic projects related to top-level initiatives.

  • Ensure regular reporting and buy-in from stakeholders.

  • Lead FMRE support for all M&A opportunities.

Real Estate Strategy 25%

  • Solicit and support strategic real estate needs and develop strategies, negotiate RE transactions across 5+M sf Portfolio.

  • Connect and coordinate with EU stakeholders.

  • Ensure real estate Capex process is followed.

  • Manage real estate database and prepare regular portfolio reporting.

  • Manage all transactions, liaise with Legal on transactions, estoppels, SNDAs, etc.

  • Provide support and consultation for all follow-on site build-out projects to ensure leasehold obligations are met.

  • Manage annual rent rolls in excess of $25M.

Leadership 15%

  • Manage P&I team.

  • Develop and align governance objectives across portfolio.

  • Ensure key processes are documented and that the FMRE team is properly trained and executing in a compliant manner.

  • Identify and implement FMRE standardized tool-set across the portfolio.

  • Align with FMRE operations on reporting obligations to ensure support.

  • Behaves as a coach values, supports and develops individuals by providing opportunities to learn and grow.

  • Give and receive continuous feedback.

Sustainability 10%

  • Ensure all FMRE resources focused on Sustainability activities are coordinated.

  • Connect FMRE activities with other regional stakeholders (site leadership, sustainability).

  • Focus on identifying and executing sustainability projects across portfolio and ensure reporting obligations are met.

Other duties as assigned 5%

  • Liaise with Landlords/Property Manager on lease agreement activities.

  • Contribute to corporate accreditation programs including ISO 14001.

  • Technical expert to RFI/CFT process including creating specifications and scope of work statements.

  • Provides counsel to HO FMRE. HO HR/WP and executive site leadership as well as other related functions such as finance, procurement, HR.

  • Recommend and manage initiatives to increase and improve service delivery considering both cost and quality.

  • Contribute to the Human Resources/Workplace Leadership Team.

Your Boarding Pass:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • Master's degree in Business or related field preferred

Experience

  • 10+ years of Corporate Real Estate/Facilities experience in complex organization (some in a production environment helpful).

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in leadership positions with strong evidence of ability to motivate teams/subordinates and influence senior leadership.

  • Strong experience in leading/sound decision making across multi-dimensional Real Estate and Facilities projects.

  • Aviation manufacturing preferred.

Licensure/Certifications

  • Professional designations through facilities organizations strongly preferred (BOMI, IFMA) preferred.

Travel Required

  • 20% Domestic and International

Citizenship

  • Authorized to Work in the US

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities

  • Working knowledge and application of OSHA, ISO, NFPA, ANSI, and ADA standards required.

  • General knowledge of FAA, EASA, and ICAO standards.

  • Current in industry trends, best practices, and technology, ability to read blue prints, construction drawings, and experience with large construction/renovation projects.

  • Strong business orientation, customer driven, process & results orientation.

  • Experience successfully managing multiple work-streams in a multi-cultural environment and successfully addressing cultural differences.

  • Ability to create alignment, influence, and direct others in a matrix environment.

  • Diplomatic, pragmatic and flexible.

  • Experience coaching employees as part of their professional development.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects from concept to completion.

  • Knowledge of industrial health and safety standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Onsite 100%

  • Vision: Daily able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.

  • Hearing: Daily able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.

  • Speaking: Daily able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.

  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): Daily able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.

  • Carrying: Daily able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.

  • Lifting: Daily able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.

  • Pushing / Pulling: Daily able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.

  • Sitting: Daily able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.

  • Squatting / Kneeling: Several times a week able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.

  • Standing: Daily able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.

  • Travel: Rarely able to travel independently and at short notice.

  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): Daily able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.

  • Appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor

Salary range:

Salary range based on the required profile: $140000 - $155000  Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on geographic differential. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
