Amentum is seeking a UCS Watchstander / DDC Technician to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The UCS Watchstander / DDC Technician provides continuous monitoring, operation, and technical support of Utility Control Systems (UCS) and Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems in accordance with Navy operational standards and facility management requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Monitoring system performance, responding to alarms, and ensuring the reliable operation of HVAC, electrical, water, and other base utility systems.

Performs routine system checks, documents system status, and escalates abnormal conditions to appropriate maintenance or engineering personnel.

Supports troubleshooting efforts by identifying system irregularities, assisting with basic diagnostics, and verifying corrective actions under established procedures.

Maintaining accurate watch logs, updating system documentation, supporting preventive maintenance activities, and assisting with system testing and calibration as directed.

Works rotating shifts as required to support 24/7 operations and contributes to safe, efficient, and mission‑critical infrastructure support in a remote environment.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in utility monitoring, building automation systems, DDC controls, or related technical field
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, utility infrastructure, or building automation controls
  • Ability to read system displays, alarms, and basic technical documentation
  • Proficiency with computer‑based monitoring systems and data entry
  • Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
  • Must be in possession of a valid Passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Passport should be valid for a minimum of 1 plus years at the time of hiring.
  • Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
  • Valid country driver's license

  • Working Environment

    This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

    Physical Requirements

    Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor
