Shipping & Receiving Manager

onsemi is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Manager at our Nampa, Idaho site. The manager will oversee all shipping, receiving, transportation, compliance, inventory flow, and logistics operations at the Nampa facility. This position ensures the efficient movement of materials, equipment, and finished goods while maintaining compliance with corporate, customs, quality, environmental, and customer requirements. The role serves as the primary liaison between site operations, corporate transportation teams, Global Trade Services (GTS), freight providers, and regulatory agencies to support uninterrupted production and business operations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Shipping, Receiving & Transportation Operations

  • Manage daily shipping and receiving operations in support of Nampa production and engineering activities.
  • Coordinate transportation activities with freight carriers, couriers, and logistics providers.
  • Monitor transportation schedules and communicate shipment delays, pickup changes, and delivery exceptions.
  • Coordinate resolution of transportation issues and escalate critical delays through appropriate channels.
  • Support transportation-related software installations, updates, and process improvements.
  • Lead Non-Factory Operations (NFO) shipment coordination.
  • Coordinate domestic and international capital equipment moves.
  • Maintain shipping and receiving visual management systems, including department monitors and communication boards.
  • Assist with classification and documentation requirements for new inbound materials and customs activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize logistics performance, cost, and service levels.

 Transportation Compliance & Performance Management

  • Serve as the primary site representative for transportation and logistics performance.
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews with the Corporate Transportation Team to evaluate service levels, transportation issues, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly die shipment reports.
  • Develop, track, and communicate shipping and receiving metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead monthly metric reviews and performance reporting activities.
  • Prepare quarterly inventory incident reports and drive corrective action plans.
  • Maintain ownership of shipping, receiving, transportation, and logistics-related documentation.
  • Serve as the owner and administrator of logistics Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) documentation.

Global Trade Services (GTS) & Shipping Requests

  • Serve as the primary gatekeeper for all Business Unit 140 shipping requests requiring Global Trade Services review and approval.
  • Review, classify, and approve international shipping requests in accordance with trade compliance requirements.
  • Maintain ownership and administration of the Shipping Request Form and associated processes.
  • Act as site subject matter expert for import/export compliance and shipping request procedures.
  • Deliver GTS and shipping compliance training to new employees and designated stakeholders.
  • Participate in bi-weekly meetings with the Corporate Compliance and Global Trade Services teams.
  • Support transportation and logistics requirements related to capital equipment transfers from closed or consolidating facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable customs, export control, and trade regulations.

Audit Management & Compliance

  • Lead and support quarterly production audits related to shipping operations.
  • Participate in quality audits covering Shipping, Receiving, and FMEA processes.
  • Support Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) audits related to shipping and receiving operations.
  • Participate in Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) audits impacting logistics activities.
  • Support customer audits involving shipping, receiving, inventory control, and FMEA processes.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions resulting from audit findings.
  • Maintain audit readiness through accurate documentation and process adherence.

 

Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Support

  • Provide operational support and subject matter expertise for Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) activities.
  • Utilize knowledge of material flow, inventory transactions, and logistics processes to assist with inventory reconciliations.
  • Support investigations of inventory discrepancies between physical inventory, Trak, IRAB, and other business systems.
  • Partner with planning, production, inventory, and compliance teams to resolve material alignment issues.
  • Assist corporate and local FTZ teams in establishing support expectations, service levels, and operating procedures.
  • Support audits and reporting requirements associated with FTZ operations.

 

Leadership Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Operations Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience with international shipping, customs compliance, and Global Trade Services processes.
  • Knowledge of transportation management systems, warehouse operations, and inventory control.
  • Experience participating in quality, EHS, customer, and compliance audits.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations.
  • Knowledge of customs classifications, import/export regulations, and trade compliance requirements.
  • Experience with FMEA methodologies and risk management processes.
  • APICS, CLTD, CPSM, or related supply chain certification.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
