Solution Architect - Senior
We are looking for a talented Solution Architect- Senior to join our team specializing in Systems/Information Technology for our Corporate organization in Columbus, IN.

- Solution Design - Creates and defines the solution design complete with instrumentation and measurement, using industry standards and tools, version control, and build and test automation to synthesize diagrams, models and documentation in order to build a solution that meets buildability, business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements.
- Solution Functional Fit Analysis - Composes and decomposes a system into its component parts using procedures, tools and work aides for the purpose of studying how well the component parts were designed, purchased and configured to interact holistically to meet business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements.
- System Solution Architecture - Creates solution designs and patterns using the Cummins Technical Reference Model (CTRM), CLEAN standards, and existing reference patterns to maintain alignment to Cummins standards.
- Project Issue and Risk Management - Manages the process to identify, assess and prioritize issues and risks using recommended tools and disciplines. Drives actions to minimize, monitor and control risks and issues and to maximize the most positive outcomes possible.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- College, university, or equivalent degree in relevant technical discipline, or relevant equivalent experience required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Intermediate experience (2-4 years) in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of architecture and design for cloud-based platforms. Knowledge of the latest trends in emerging technologies is highly preferred and includes:
- Analyzing complex business systems, industry requirements, and governance and creating solution designs from them
- Proven architecture and design experience for cloud-based platforms and enterprise applications
Intermediate experiences in the following are preferred:
- Experience with architecting and integrating enterprise systems and data
- Familiar with IoT technology
- Knowledge of Agile software development and DevSecOps
Technical Skills
- Strong hands‑on experience with React.js/Angular, Node.js, TypeScript. Java, Python, SpringBoot, supporting both new development and legacy modernization
- Extensive experience with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, S3 etc).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
- Deep understanding of microservices, event‑driven architectures, domain‑driven design, and integration patterns across enterprise systems
- Strong knowledge of RDBMS Database, Normalization
- Knowledge of secure system design, data privacy, encryption, and access control.
- Integration Frameworks - Mulesoft, ESB, Kafka etc
- Good experience of end-to-end SDLC lifecycle with hands on experience in software management and development tools - Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence), Visual Studio, GitHub Copilot, Draw.io etc
- Experience utilizing agentic AI framework for automated code generation and workflow orchestration
- Root cause analysis, debugging and resolving of code defects and software issues
- Enforce Security and Architecture standards in assigned area
- Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle; Document and demonstrate solutions; Develops flow charts, layouts and documentation
- Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and issues while protecting IT assets by keeping information confidential; Improve applications by conducting systems analysis recommending changes in policies and procedures
- Define applications and their interfaces, allocate responsibilities to applications, understand solution deployment, and communicate requirements for interactions with solution context, define Nonfunctional Requirements (NFRs)
