Analyst-Operational Risk Management

About the Team

The Operational Risk Management (ORM) team facilitates and monitors the implementation of effective operational risk management programs across the enterprise and oversees risk ownership across business units, products, and processes.

Within ORM, the Issues & Events Analytics team transforms operational risk data into actionable insights that support executive decision-making, strengthen governance, and drive continuous improvement. The team develops enterprise reporting capabilities and executive insights, performs advanced analytics, identifies systemic risk themes, and partners across the organization to improve how operational risk is measured, understood, and managed.

Role Summary

ORM is looking for an Analyst, Issues and Events Analytics, to support the development of enterprise analytics, strategic insights, thematic analysis, and data-driven solutions that support operational risk management across the organization.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex business problems through data, translating analysis into meaningful analyses, and leveraging automation and emerging technologies to improve decision making.

Reporting to the Manager, Issues and Events Analytics, you will partner with stakeholders across ORM, Business Units, Technology, and Compliance to deliver high-quality analytical solutions, and strategic insights that support enterprise risk initiatives.

Enterprise Analytics & Executive Insights

• Analyze enterprise Issues and Events data to identify emerging risks, systemic patterns, root causes, and opportunities that support executive decision-making. 
• Lead thematic analyses, exploratory analytics, and deep dives to answer complex business questions and provide actionable recommendations. 
• Translate analytical findings into concise, executive-ready narratives that clearly communicate business implications and recommended actions. 
• Support adhoc leadership requests by developing timely, high-quality analyses and executive presentations.

 

Strategic Analytics & Data Solutions

• Develop scalable analytical solutions, dashboards, and reporting capabilities that enable effective monitoring and decision-making. 
• Perform data validation and analytical reviews to ensure outputs are accurate, reliable, and fit for business use. 
• Support regulatory, audit, and enterprise initiatives by providing analytical insights and responding to information requests. 
• Continuously improve analytical methodologies, data processes, and documentation to enhance consistency and efficiency. 

 

Innovation, Automation & AI

• Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to simplify analytical workflows, improve operational efficiency, and enhance insight generation through automation and AI-enabled solutions. 
• Develop and implement analytical use cases leveraging Generative AI, custom GPTs, and other emerging technologies to improve research, analysis, reporting quality, and knowledge management. 
• Evaluate emerging analytical techniques and technologies to continuously improve how operational risk insights are generated and communicated. 

 

Stakeholder Partnership

• Partner with Business Units, ORM teams, Technology, Compliance, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver analytical solutions. 
• Communicate analytical insights and recommendations effectively to both technical and executive audiences. 
• Collaborate across teams to support enterprise initiatives and drive continuous improvement in operational risk analytics.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in Analytics, Business Intelligence, Operational Risk, Governance, Strategy, Consulting, or related analytical functions. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to derive meaningful business insights from complex datasets. 
• Demonstrated experience developing executive presentations, dashboards, or management reporting. 
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations. 
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. 
• Experience with one or more analytical tools such as SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or similar platforms. 
• Comfortable leveraging AI-powered tools responsibly to enhance productivity, strengthen analysis, and improve the quality of deliverables while adhering to organizational policies and ethical AI practices. 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree from a reputed Tier 1 institution. 

   

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within Operational Risk Management, Issues Management, Governance, Internal Audit, Risk Analytics, or related second-line risk functions. 
• Experience performing exploratory analytics, root cause analysis, thematic analysis, or translating data into actionable business insights.
• Experience leveraging automation, AI, or emerging technologies to improve analytics, reporting, or business processes.
• Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to simplify manual processes through automation and scalable analytical solutions.
