Ocean Freight Specialist

About the Role
 

As an Ocean Freight Specialist, you will play a key role in coordinating and managing international freight shipments for customers across global markets. You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end transportation process, ensuring shipments move efficiently, compliantly, and cost-effectively while delivering a high-quality customer experience.
Working closely with customers, carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams, you will manage import and export operations, resolve transportation challenges, and contribute to the smooth execution of supply chain activities.

How You Will Contribute

• Coordinate ocean freight shipments from booking through final delivery, ensuring service levels and customer requirements are met.
• Prepare, review, and manage shipping documentation, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and international trade requirements.
• Act as a key point of contact for customers, providing shipment updates, resolving issues, and maintaining strong professional relationships.
• Collaborate with carriers, shipping lines, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure the smooth movement of goods.
• Monitor shipment progress, anticipate potential disruptions, and implement appropriate solutions to minimize operational impact.
• Negotiate freight rates and service agreements with carriers and vendors to support operational efficiency and profitability.
• Utilize freight forwarding systems and technology tools to maintain shipment visibility, data accuracy, and process efficiency.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance service quality, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.

What You Will Bring

• Experience in ocean freight forwarding, logistics, supply chain, or international transportation.
• Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, Incoterms, and shipping documentation.
• Fluency in Portuguese, Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A customer-focused and solution-oriented approach, with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
