It's more than a job

As a member of the Freight Forwarding team Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in transporting goods, optimising processes, and fulfilling our customers' promises. And by transporting medicines, toys and important machine parts, you are not only delivering goods, you are making small and big moments possible for people all around the world. At Kuehne+Nagel, our contribution counts in more ways than we imagine.

Our Operational Key Account Management team is where KN puts its most demanding global accounts — and its most trusted people. You'd own the operational relationship with high-profile customers end to end: chairing governance, driving escalations to resolution, and acting as the customer's voice inside the organisation. This is a team investing in its own future — we've built a structured competency and development framework for the Operational Key Account Manager career path, and we're actively pioneering AI-enabled shipment visibility as part of how the function will run tomorrow. If you want ownership, global scope, and a role where your judgment is visible to both the customer and senior leadership, this is it.

How you create impact

  • Manage order activity for large consumer and industrial accounts, ensuring customer requirements, timelines, and service expectations are clearly understood and executed.
  • Serve as a trusted communication link between customers, operational teams, customer care locations, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive updates, structured follow-up, and timely escalation management.
  • Clarify and formalize operational requirements, standard operating procedures, service expectations, and account-specific processes.
  • Monitor operational performance, identify risks, and drive corrective actions to improve service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Support implementation of new business, customer projects, process changes, and system set-ups related to freight forwarding operations.
  • Partner with internal experts to improve processes, increase visibility, and identify opportunities for automation and reporting.
  • Prepare and present operational updates, KPI performance, root cause analysis, and improvement plans for customer business reviews.

What we would like you to bring

  • At least 5 years of experience in freight forwarding order management, ideally supporting large consumer, retail, manufacturing, or industrial accounts.
  • Experience managing technical systems used to support order management, customer visibility, reporting, and operational workflows.
  • A strong communicator who can manage customer expectations, influence internal stakeholders, and bring clarity to fast-moving operational situations.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering a consistent, high-quality experience for complex logistics accounts.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Solutions-oriented and confident identifying opportunities to improve processes and service delivery.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively across commercial, operational, and customer-facing teams.
  • Motivated by improving how complex logistics accounts are managed.
