This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable organization with significant long-term growth potential as key members of the leadership team approach retirement.

About the Role

The Superintendent will oversee multiple construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage federal, military, commercial, and industrial construction projects valued between approximately $100K and $7M.
  • Oversee 2–3 concurrent projects, including both ground-up construction and renovation work.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, project schedules, and daily field operations.
  • Work closely with project owners, project managers, vendors, and field personnel to ensure successful project execution.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Monitor project progress, quality, safety, and compliance with applicable building codes and project requirements.
  • Assist with project estimates, budgeting, and cost tracking while maintaining strong attention to financial performance.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, subcontractor activities, inspections, and project documentation.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal leadership.
  • Travel to project sites throughout New York, with occasional out-of-state travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of field experience managing ground-up commercial, industrial, or infrastructure construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, building materials, project sequencing, and applicable building codes.
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong estimating, budgeting, and project cost awareness.
  • Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, schedules, and multiple project stakeholders.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (required).
  • Proficiency with construction software such as Sage Timberline, Primavera, and Bluebeam is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management is a plus; equivalent hands-on construction experience will also be considered.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
