Description

Job overview and responsibilities


Aircraft painter applies pre-mixed and blended paint or coating to interior and exterior of assembled aircrafts or parts. Prepares surfaces for painting and protects painted surfaces from erosion. Work closely with aircraft engineers to ensure that their work meets all safety standards.

  • Cleaning and preparing surfaces for painting by removing old paint using solvents, scrapers, sandpaper, or other tools
  • Applying primers and paintjobs using spray guns, brushes and other painting methods 
  • Mixing paint or cleaning solvent solutions to prepare them for use
  • Applying protective coatings to aircraft structural components such as spars, ribs, stringers, frames, bulkheads, and skins
  • Sanding surfaces to remove imperfections in the surface created by previous coats of paint or primer
  • Applying decals and striping to an aircraft using a stencil or spray gun
  • Cleaning tools and equipment at the end of each workday
  • Applying special paints to aircraft components to improve their resistance to wear and corrosion
  • Applying protective coatings to aircraft external surfaces such as wings, fuselages, or tails
  • To be successful, the qualified candidate requires the utmost professionalism, integrity, and work ethic

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years’ experience in aeronautical industry.   
  • Proven experience as an aircraft painter
  • Solid understanding of painting techniques, materials, and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Brazil for any employer without sponsorship
