Role & Responsibilities:

  • Role will be a senior contributor to our strategic buy-side team, part of our Americas Index Sales organization
  • Role will lead some of our most critical relationships with the goal of growing the usage of FTSE Russell indexes across the client’s relevant investment products and solutions (e.g. mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs, CITs, etc.)
  • Candidate will need to create and set clear account strategies to unlock new opportunities with clients, including winning new product launches linked to FTSE Russell indexes and switching existing products from other index providers
  • Internal collaboration is required across our sales organization as well as stakeholders spanning Index Research, Product, Legal, Marketing and will be expected to coordinate with LSEG account managers
  • Collaborate across index sales spanning teams focused on wealth, asset owner, sell-side and insurance channels
  • Candidate will be the face of FTSE Russell to our clients, handling both strategic engagement and day to day account management duties including:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across asset management organizations
    • Grow and develop the accounts via robust strategic account planning and pitching new investment ideas for implementation via index-linked products (e.g. ETFs, mutual funds, direct indexing) across our full suite of FTSE Russell indexes including equity, factors, fixed income, thematic, sustainable, crypto, real-estate and private asset solutions
    • Frequent engagement with clients on strategic priorities and internal collaboration with FTSE Russell product teams for new ideas to deliver to client
    • Promote the use of FTSE Russell indexes across the different facets of the investment process including, but not limited to, performance measurement, fund creation, investment research and investment strategy development
    • Engage collaboratively and strategically with clients on their key investment objectives across asset classes and position FTSE Russell indexes accordingly to meet those needs and translate into new sales
    • Deliver insights pertaining to market intelligence, distribution and marketing opportunities
    • Solicit client feedback on new initiatives, research and future product development
    • Develop and implement strategic account plans to advance FTSE Russell opportunities and align with broader LSEG relationship
    • Develop and manage sales pipeline for new index-linked funds and index switch opportunities across the client’s product line-up, including ETFs, direct indexing and retirement products
    • Be prepared to engage on contractual requirements for new business and renewals as well as to resolve unlicensed client Index usage

Skills, Requirements & Competencies

  • Proven experience in sales, ideally in index sales, strategic account management, wholesaling and / or other investment related business development roles
  • Experience either working for or selling to US asset managers and / or wealth managers
  • Deep knowledge of investment products, processes and the trends of the global investment industry including ETF usage, product development, direct indexing and wealth / retirement planning
  • Strong hunting mentality and ability to quickly identify and pursue opportunities
  • Ability to negotiate complex commercial deals pertaining to index licensing
  • Ability to travel frequently to see clients
  • A strong and quantifiable sales track record
  • Superior communication skills and ability to create materials and present to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple demands/ projects
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Capable of working as part of a team and independently to reach team and individual targets respectively
  • Motivated by and able to thrive in a targeted sales environment and comfortable in a rapidly changing organization
  • Degree or equivalent in a Finance, Economics or Engineering related field- Specialisation and expertise within a product area
  • MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Salesforce proficiency is a must
  • Candidate will leverage Salesforce and other sales tools such as SalesLoft and other technologies to optimize client outreach and engagement
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Compensation/Benefits Information:

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $143,200 - $238,800.

Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Variable Incentive Compensation plan. Target variable compensation will be commensurate with the posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience. LSEG roles (excluding internships and part-time roles of less than 20 hours per week) are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG Benefits program, which includes offerings of: Annual Wellness Allowance, Paid time-off, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending & Health Savings Options, Prescription Drug plan, 401(K) Savings Plan and Company match.
