ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience in metallurgy or materials testing and a keen eye for detail, with a passion for producing accurate, high-quality work. You'll be confident preparing and analysing metal samples using a range of metallurgical techniques and be comfortable working with laboratory equipment to carry out microscopic evaluation, corrosion testing and chemical analysis. You will have good IT skills, a solid understanding of materials, ideally supported by a relevant qualification or accreditation, and experience using modern materials analysis techniques. As a collaborative team player, you'll communicate effectively with colleagues and clients, thrive in a quality-driven environment, and be committed to continuous improvement and delivering excellent results.

 

Required skills and experience:

  • Good IT literacy skills
  • Metallurgical experience
  • Good knowledge of materials, preferably with a related accreditation 
  • Previously worked with materials analysis techniques
  • Experienced in using modern lean tools and techniques 

 

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established laboratory where you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality metallurgical testing and analysis services. Working alongside an experienced team, you'll be involved in the preparation, testing and evaluation of metal samples for a diverse range of industries, helping clients make informed engineering and manufacturing decisions. Key activities:

  • Metallurgical preparation of metal samples in line with specifications, including sectioning, grinding, polishing and etching of samples.

  • Microscopic Evaluation of samples to specifications.

  • Performance of corrosion tests.

  • Chemical analysis of metal samples.

  • Report analysis findings in an accurate and concise manner.
