The OneDrive and SharePoint (ODSP) Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) team delivers cloud collaboration services to customers globally.  The SRE team is adding to its team of experts focused on site reliability and user experience with our service.  In this role you will see the hardest, most interesting problems in the SharePoint world and will have the mission to drive world-class customer experiences with our service by eradicating problems encountered in run-state.  Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Responsibilities
  • Manage escalations and collaborations with Product Group
  • Service restoration.
  • Conduct root cause analysis.
  • Finds new sources and methods to generate service insights in drive standardization in problem definition and prioritization in driving solution to top run-state issues.
  • Influence the product architecture and roadmap to optimize the customer experience of our products and services.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND  technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration 
    • OR equivalent experience.
  

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical experience working with large-scale cloud or distributed systems.
  • Specialty in one or more of the following areas is required.  You don’t have to be the best at all of these, but in your current role you’d probably be considered the ‘go to’ person for one or more of these:
    •    In depth SharePoint administration principals
    •    Large scale web farm operations 
    •    Knowledge of SharePoint development techniques including FTC, CAM and SPFX
    •    Ability to deal with the ambiguity associated with working in a fast-paced environment.

Optionally:

  • M365

  • Azure cloud technologies

  • Expertise in analyzing, troubleshooting, and automating root cause analysis and mitigation of incidents impacting large-scale distributed systems.

  • Proficiency in distributed systems and/or big data technologies

  • SQL High-Availability and disaster recovery concepts



Site Reliability Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Ireland is € 63,400.00 - € 105,700.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
