Quality Specialist - Logistics (3rd Shift)
Job Description Summary
The Quality Logistics Specialist plays a critical role in supporting product flow, hardware review, and quality-related logistics activities within a manufacturing environment. This position partners closely with quality, operations, and material teams to ensure hardware is accurately reviewed, properly routed, and efficiently processed in alignment with established procedures and business standards.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual and documentation reviews of hardware routed to the quality function.
- Prepare and/or verify disposition packages, including rework, clear, CTP/MRB, and scrap, in accordance with standard work, specifications, and quality procedures.
- Identify discrepancies, documentation gaps, and process issues, and help resolve them in a timely manner.
- Execute serial number-related activities, including creation, transfer, correction, and removal, in accordance with approved work instructions and enterprise standards.
- Maintain accurate system records for all quality transactions performed during assigned shift operations.
- Identify recurring serial number or documentation issues and escalate them for follow-up problem solving and process improvement.
- Monitor quality hold areas, cages, and queues to identify aging holds and out-of-flow inventory.
- Coordinate with quality, operations, and material handling teams to clear holds promptly once disposition or documentation is available.
- Apply standard processes for holds, RTV material, and rework to reduce turnaround time and prevent inventory buildup in quality areas.
- Partner closely with material handlers and cell teams to ensure proper routing of parts to and from quality locations, including RTV returns, rework loops, and cleared hardware.
- Communicate clearly and proactively with supervisors and team members regarding part status, disposition, and expected release timing.
- Participate in daily management discussions and provide input related to quality flow, part movement, and operational priorities.
- Follow and support standard work for hardware review, serial number activities, quality hold management, and RTV processes.
- Identify process gaps, defects, or unclear procedures and recommend improvements.
- Support 5S practices in quality cages, RTV areas, and material staging zones to maintain an organized, visible, and audit-ready workspace.
- Contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing turnaround time, minimizing rework, and improving data integrity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years quality/logistics experience
Desired Characteristics
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Experience in hardware processing, product handling, manufacturing, quality, logistics, or material handling environments.
- Ability to interpret basic drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting quality operations in a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with disposition processes, inventory control, and serial number tracking.
- Experience working across shifts or in off-shift operational support roles.
