The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.
We’re looking for a Facilities Lead to take ownership of daily operations, maintenance, and improvements across our tunneling jobsite infrastructure. This role is boots-on-the-ground - part builder, part problem-solver - responsible for keeping critical site systems online and supporting a fast-paced tunneling environment. You’ll lead a small team to manage power, water, lighting, ventilation, yard organization, and general upkeep of both surface facilities.

Responsibilities:
- Own daily upkeep and troubleshooting of facilities infrastructure including lighting, ventilation, electrical drops, water delivery, drainage, and general utilities
- Manage vendor and contractors to execute routine maintenance and unplanned repairs
- Build and maintain temporary site infrastructure to support tunneling progress (e.g., staging areas, workshops, break areas, hose routing)
- Coordinate with TBM operations, EHS, and logistics teams to support production while keeping facilities safe and functional
- Monitor site cleanliness, layout efficiency, and infrastructure reliability - proactively fixing issues before they become blockers
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in construction site maintenance, facilities operations, or industrial infrastructure
- Strong troubleshooting ability across electrical, mechanical, and utility systems
- Ability to read site plans, schematics, and work orders and execute with minimal supervision
- Experience leading crews or coordinating with multiple teams on active job sites
- Comfortable working outdoors and underground in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
- Forklift and telehandler experience a plus
