Overview:
Inovalon is creating a Process Engineering team to lead and deliver a firmwide program that will document, optimize, enhance control standards and continually improve all execution processes and supporting systems. This Process Engineering Specialist role will be responsible for discovering, documenting, optimizing, including identifying automation opportunities, and designing effective operational controls for business processes across Inovalon. This role serves as a key contributor to enterprise operational excellence and business transformation initiatives by partnering with leaders and teams across Customer Success, Operations, Product, Technology, Resources, and Corporate Functions. The successful candidate will work as part of a cross functional team to analyze and document current-state operations, define optimized process designs, identify automation opportunities, and lead AI-enabled process transformation initiatives. They will also ensure existing operational controls are effective, and implement new controls as required. This role combines process engineering, continuous improvement, automation strategy, and AI transformation to help Inovalon build a highly efficient, scalable, and data-driven operating model.

This role is expected to serve as a key driver of Inovalon's enterprise operational excellence strategy, leading the identification, optimization, automation, and AI-enabled transformation of critical business processes across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Process Discovery & Documentation:

  • Conduct enterprise-wide process discovery activities across business functions.
  • Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process assessment sessions.
  • Document current-state and future-state processes using industry-standard methodologies and tools.
  • Develop and maintain process maps, SOPs, workflows, RACI matrices, operational playbooks, and governance documentation.
  • Establish and manage a centralized repository of business processes.
  • Ensure process documentation remains current and aligned with evolving business needs.

Process Optimization & Operational Excellence:

  • Analyze processes to identify bottlenecks, redundancies, risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Design scalable operational processes that support company growth and business transformation.
  • Partner with leadership teams to prioritize improvement initiatives based on business impact.
  • Implement performance management frameworks to monitor process effectiveness.
  • Drive standardization across departments to reduce variability and improve operational consistency.

Automation & Digital Transformation:

  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities to eliminate manual and repetitive activities and as needed replace with workflow automation.
  • Lead discovery efforts to identify knowledge-based activities and decision-making processes suitable for AI augmentation.
  • Develop business cases that quantify expected benefits and return on investment – customer experience, capacity, reduced resourcing, operational risk reduction, cycle time reduction and quality improvement.
  • Partner with Technology, Product and Data teams to develop and deploy automation and AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Define training and communications program that ensures sustainable adoption of new tooling and processes.
  • Measure realized business value and adoption following automation implementation.
  • Measure AI adoption, utilization, productivity gains, and business value realization.

Process Controls & Governance:

  • Design and implement process control frameworks that improve consistency, compliance, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with Audit, Compliance, Security, and Risk teams to strengthen operational controls.
  • Ensure processes support regulatory, contractual, and organizational requirements.
  • Conduct periodic reviews to validate process effectiveness and control adherence.

Stakeholder Management & Change Leadership:

  • Build strong partnerships across business, operations, customer success, product and technology teams.
  • Present recommendations and improvement roadmaps to senior leadership.
  • Support change management activities associated with new processes and technologies.
  • Drive adoption of continuous improvement and operational excellence practices across the organization.

Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent experience in a related field required

Experience:

    • 5+ Years of experience in Process Engineering, Business Process Management, Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Business Transformation, or related disciplines.
    • Experience leading process discovery, process mapping, and process redesign initiatives.
    • Experience documenting end-to-end business processes using industry recognized tooling.
    • Experience implementing workflow automation, process automation, or RPA solutions.
    • Demonstrated success delivering measurable process improvements.
    • Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders and business transformation efforts.
    • Experience using data analysis and performance metrics to drive decision-making.
    • Experience developing business cases and investment recommendations.
    • Strong project management and execution capabilities.

Skills and Abilities:

    • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent certification.
    • Business Process Management (BPM) certification.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
    • Change Management certification.
    • AI, Automation, Data Analytics, or Operational Excellence certifications.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

    • This is a primarily sedentary role. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear for extended periods of time, and also required to repetitively use manual labor to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.

Inovalon Offers a Competitive Salary and Benefits Package

In addition to the base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.  At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range$105,000$140,000 USD
