Unilever has created Unilever’s Digital Marketing, Media and Commerce (DMC) Function that is a seamlessly integrated media buying, social influence, digital commerce function to drives Unilever Power Brands functional and emotional messages to consumers within its different regional clusters.
JOB PURPOSE
Unilever NALI Media Team is looking for Content & Influencer Marketing experts to drive the ‘Others Say’ vision for its iconic brands. As opposed to ‘Brand Say’ marketing where the speaker is the brand, ‘Others Say’ leverages the voices of others to amplify brand messages to authentically build credibility and trust with its audience to drive business and communications goals. NALI Digital Content Hub Lead role is an exciting role to lead digital excellence, creative technology, social community growth and work very closely with the rest of the brand managers and Media teams to shape and land the key projects in innovative and impactful ways setting the strategic creative social agenda. this role will work to “design” and uplevel communities and purpose communications for focus brands by building Influencer plans and crafting unmissable content.
• The Design communications function is focused on:
1. Developing and ensuring implementation of the brands external communications, PR & Influencer Marketing strategy
2. Creating a yearly integrated strategic communications plan for the brands’ social pages, developing brands' online persona
3. Partnering with the brand marketing teams on their campaigns, Media Leads & / or new core/innovation launches developing specific plans and assets
4. Developing the brand statements and keeping them up to date
5. Leading the Others Say measurement and developing the tools
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
• Act as Content champion and strategic social creative driver within the Media Team.
• Step up, support development and delivery of best-in-class Digital, & Social Advertising, Needs Content, Social Commerce, Digital Commerce Content, Local Influencer Management (where appropriate).
• Support the media head in setting prioritization and full utilization of Cairo Hub work flow and resources.
• Play active role in DMC Content Community, sharing learnings, case studies, challenges, and opportunities.
• Champion creative & content innovation, partnering agencies and platforms to deliver learnings from learning agenda driven pilots & experiments.
• Ensure implementation of Unilever best practice creative process, compliance across all project deliveries, directing agency partners.
• Act as DMC expert in Creative Automation, and other relevant creative and content technology platforms that are essential to the DMC scope.
• Contribute to creating brand Earned and Paid Influencer Marketing strategies
• Own projects including campaigns, playbooks & guidelines, and delivering content relevant for in country execution
• Craft unforgettable hooks, culture, science and purpose content to inspire Others Say partners and drive brand credentials including press dossiers (copy and beautiful design), press releases, digital press releases, editorial and still life beauty visuals, reactive Q&A’s, spokesperson identification, identification of purpose credentials and science claims
• Contribute to the creation of Others Say events and meet-ups with influencers
• Build measurement into every plan to benchmark success and gain insights for future plans
• Work with agencies as needed to execute – with clarity on the R&R between in-house team and agencies
• As part of the One Unilever DMC - you will be asked to contribute to X-functional projects to help drive the Others Say agenda within the business and create new needed capabilities
• Building the brand network of allies: agencies, influencers, editors, etc.
• Manage local agency partners and coordinate with Brand teams in specific markets.
• Help create bespoke content with influencers based on design teams guidance for their campaigns
• Manage local Earned & Paid Influencer budgets with brand team inclusive of: agency budgets, paid media dedicated to Others Say.
• Leading creative transformation such as modular adaptation and being visionary in setting an AI and creative technology roadmap for the category (leading pilots and sharing learnings in the brand communities & DMC’s).
• The role is expected to lead this agenda and continue to unlock the potential to make Unilever brands a cult set of brands across different social media channels respecting the different natures of those. They will lead the social media strategy and execution as it pertains to building communities and developing partnerships to extend digital reach, working with digital specialists and brand managers across the globe to achieve this.
• Responsible for building brand communities through partnering the right creators, creative social strategy and creating different networks for our different brands.
• The role will also be overseeing this and play an instrumental role in expanding the network of creators we collaborate with.
• They will work closely with digital and creative agencies, the media innovations team, and the project leaders to shape the key projects in the most impactful way.
• They will also work closely with the global ICNOW team to identify pockets of growth for the brand in this channel, developed and support local activations guiding the local markets and partnering with them to grow the ICNOW business for multiple brands.
• Get the brand to “stand out in culture” - Being the lead for social media where the brand gets incredible insights into culture, the role will require the brand manager to constantly identify opportunities for innovation or experiences to reach a variety of age demographics.
• A Content Lead manages and strategizes content development for various platforms, ensuring alignment with brand identity and objectives. They oversee content creation teams, editing, and the publication process. They often assess content performance through analytics, adjust strategies for improvement, and ensure content quality. A Content Lead must maintain consistency across digital channels.
• Becomes a successful Content Lead, one typically requires a background in marketing, journalism, or communications. Strong writing and editing skills are crucial, along with leadership abilities to manage a team. Experience with content strategies, SEO best practices, and understanding digital marketing trends is beneficial. Pursuing certifications in content marketing can also enhance career prospects.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
• Degree holders in Marketing and/or Digital related disciplines preferred.
• 10-15 years of experience in FMCG/Creative Agency background desired.
• Advanced understanding of the media & digital, brand communication landscape, and managing advertising/media budgets.
• Experience in holistic brand communication management at a large brand, or cross-brand leadership at an agency.
• An understanding of the pop culture for different demographics and being able to use this cultural understanding and open mindedness to help forge partnerships with authenticity and sensitivity across PC, beauty and Nutrition categories.
• A committed team builder with a high passion for growth & excellence in digital capabilities and experiences.
• A constant learner, curious in creative technology and excited with the potential to pioneer
