Job Title: Network and Systems Administrator
Job Summary: The Network & Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, security, and support of the hospital’s network and server infrastructure. This role ensures the reliability, availability, and security of IT systems that support clinical care, surgical services, and administrative operations. The position combines core network administration and systems administration functions and serves as a key technical resource within a specialty or surgical hospital environment, where system uptime, data security, and regulatory compliance are critical.
Reports To: Chief Administrative Officer
Salary Range: $104,062 - $138,153 per year (salary range is intentionally broad as pay will be determined based on qualifications, experience and eligibility for bonuses)
Essential Job Functions:
Network Administration
- Design, configure, monitor, and support LAN/WAN, firewalls, wireless, and VPN infrastructure.
- Ensure high availability and performance for clinical systems, EHRs, PACS, VoIP, and medical devices.
- Manage network security controls and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
Systems Administration
- Administer Windows and/or Linux servers and virtualization platforms.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and authentication services.
- Perform patching, upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery operations.
Security, Compliance & Risk Management
- Support HIPAA, Joint Commission, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Participate in audits, risk assessments, and incident response activities.
Clinical & Operational Support
- Support infrastructure for clinical and surgical applications.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issues impacting hospital operations.
Additional Duties
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates the spirit of the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital through words and actions and implements them into departmental processes, programs, and the working environment.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
Experience: 3–5 years of experience in combined network and systems administration roles. Hands-on experience with networking, servers, virtualization, and security technologies. Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. Healthcare or hospital IT experience, preferred. Healthcare or hospital IT experience. Experience supporting EHRs, PACS, imaging systems, and medical device connectivity. Industry certifications such as CCNA, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, or VMware certifications.
Physical Requirements
This position requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 15 at times. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Working Conditions/Environmental Exposures
Environmental hazards such as chemicals, solvents, needles, needle containers, sharps, blood, body fluids, various infectious/communicable diseases, infectious medical waste, radiation, and/or radioactive materials and/or radioactive waste, proximity to moving mechanical parts. Protective clothing/equipment may be necessary.
Animas Health Immunizations and Vaccinations Requirements
Aligns with CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) for Healthcare Personnel
- Hepatitis B- Lab evidence of immunity (titer) to Hepatitis B or three doses Hep B vaccine at appropriate intervals
- Influenza- documentation of current seasonal flu vaccine (mandatory from November 1st through March 31st each year)
- Measles, Mumps, and Rubella - Lab evidence of immunity (titer) to Measles, Mumps, and Rubella or 2 doses of MMR Vaccination
- Varicella (chickenpox) - Lab evidence of immunity (titer) to Varicella or 2 doses of Varicella Vaccine
- Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) - documented proof of immunization
- Tuberculosis Screening - Documentation of a two-step TB skin test within the past year OR lab verification of a negative TB Gold or T-Spot tuberculin test within the past 6 months
*Vaccine records or evidence of immunity are required prior to 1st day of scheduled work.
