Senior Sales Manager (Data Centers) (m/f/d)
As the Sales Manager for Strategic Sales in Data Center within Honeywell’s Building Automation (BA) business, you will lead a team of Sr. Strategic Sales Representatives responsible for driving revenue growth and long-term success in a specific region. Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Sales, you will be accountable for executing vertical-specific strategies and ensuring your team meets or exceeds their sales targets.
Your role, as leader with Data Center sales and domain expertise, will focus on coaching and mentoring your team to implement effective, forward-looking sales strategies that target long-term business opportunities. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as regional sales, offering management and the global Data Center team, to ensure that your team delivers tailored solutions that align with Honeywell’s broader Building Automation offerings (Electrical, BMS, Fire and Security). In this role, you will drive demand generation, build deep customer relationships, and ensure a strong market presence within your assigned vertical.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Implement and oversee strategic sales plans for the Data Center aligning with long-term business goals and ensuring your team capitalizes on market opportunities within the region for targeted accounts.
- Work closely with the Senior Director of Strategic Sales, as well as cross-functional teams to ensure that the sales strategies within this vertical align with BA’s broader objectives and offerings.
- Foster strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including end-users, specifiers, general contractors, and other influencers, to secure preference for Honeywell’s Honeywell Building Automation solutions and increase market share for Datacenter.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to drive demand generation campaigns, leveraging customer insights and market data to inform strategic decisions that position Honeywell for future growth.
- Support your team in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, guiding them in building strong customer pipelines and expanding Honeywell’s presence in Data Centers.
- Encourage and facilitate cross-selling initiatives within Honeywell offerings (Building Automation, Process Automation and Industrial Automation) to maximize customer value and increase overall revenue within the assigned vertical.
Strategic Insights:
- Provide strategic recommendations that anticipate future opportunities, drive business growth, and enhance customer experiences.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive shifts, using this intelligence to guide decision-making and keep Building Automation at the forefront of the market.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry leaders and key stakeholders, cultivating long-term sales opportunities within Building Automation’s targeted verticals.
- Deliver deep customer insights that inform future product development, marketing strategies, and broader business planning, positioning Building Automation to meet evolving customer needs and drive sustained growth.
Team Leadership:
- Ensure your team is fully enabled to deliver value to customers by providing them with access to the latest tools, resources, and training, and by fostering a customer-centric approach across all interactions.
- Build and lead a high-performing team focused on strategic sales enablement, customer growth, and demand generation, ensuring alignment with revenue and growth targets.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a results-oriented culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement focused on achieving growth objectives.
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and ensure the team consistently meets or exceeds long-term growth and revenue goals.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field;
- Fluency in German is Mandatory
- 5+ years of Data Center domain expertise
- 7+ years of experience in sales, business development or related roles
- 3+ years people leadership experience, preferably in sales
- Knowledge and experience with different go-to-market channel strategies including direct, distribution, and System Integrators for products and services is a must.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including international as required.
