What You Will Do:

  • Lead the management and continual refinement of value frameworks, risk methodologies, and investment decision-making processes across GDS Ontario.

  • Integrate risk assessments, asset health metrics, benchmarks, financial analysis, and value drivers into asset investment planning to support optimized capital prioritization.

  • Develop and improve capital planning tools, lifecycle and TotEx value models, and alternatives analysis methodologies to support investment decisions.

  • Develop and uphold quality assurance procedures, documentation criteria, and governance methods that facilitate regulatory review and Asset Management Plan defense.

  • Provide subject matter expertise, mentorship, and training to cross-functional collaborators on valuation methods, risk-informed decision-making, and investment prioritization practices.

  • Work together with Engineering, Finance, Risk Management, Regulatory, Enterprise Asset Management, and business partners to promote consistency and enterprise alignment.

  • Assess investment value, risk alignment, model quality, and regulatory readiness while providing recommendations to leadership and key collaborators.

Who You Are:

  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field.

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in asset management, capital planning, investment planning, or related fields.

  • Solid understanding of risk management principles, financial analysis, value frameworks, and investment prioritization methodologies.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and improving governance processes, quality assurance practices, tools, and decision-support frameworks.

  • Outstanding communication, collaborator engagement, facilitation, documentation, and change management skills.

  • Proven ability to influence decisions and build relationships across multiple functional areas.

Preferred:

  • Professional designation such as P.Eng., PMP, or an equivalent certification.

  • Experience assisting with regulatory proceedings, rate applications, or regulatory defense of Asset Management Plans.

  • Solid knowledge of utility operations and asset management methods.

  • Experience with Copperleaf, TotEx approaches, lifecycle value modeling, and Enterprise Asset Management frameworks.

  • Advanced financial insight and business sense with the ability to translate complex information into actionable recommendations.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office-based or hybrid work environment.

  • Frequent use of computer applications for analysis, reporting, documentation, and presentation development.

  • Regular collaboration with cross-functional teams through meetings, workshops, and sessions engaging collaborators.

  • Occasional travel may be required to support workshops, training activities, or conferences.

  • Periodic peak workloads associated with investment planning cycles, governance reviews, regulatory submissions, and strategic business initiatives.

Salary:

  • Ranges from $111,270 – $130,000 CAD for Ontario locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.

  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
